The Power of Two[]
In "You Know These Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", during the challenge, when Lightning is the first contestant to fly up and reach the top of the hotel, Tree tries to communicate with him but gets frustrated because he can't hear him, so Remote hands a megaphone to Tree in order to hear him better from above. However, due to the challenge's rules, Lightning isn't able to get back down as Tree said and the rest of Death P.A.C.T. Again tries to find a plan to succeed in the challenge. As Remote explains her strategy to the team, which is simply just getting up some of the staircases and being boosted by Black Hole onto the top of the hotel afterwards, Tree seems distrustful and thinks that this would be too slow. However, Remote, who seems quite upset tells him to just let her finish. When she does so, Death P.A.C.T. Again tries to pull off their plan.
Later, while the team is almost done finishing going to the top, Tree starts complaining because of exhaustion when Remote encourages everybody to climb the last few flights of stairs. When they finally arrive, Remote puts Tree aside in order to notify Black Hole to fly up, only to remember that he has bad hearing. As Tree pulls up the megaphone, which Remote points out was given by her, he accidentally lets it fall down and gets it directly sucked in by Black Hole. Due to the team basically not having any other options left anymore, Remote sacrifices herself by pulling out one of her batteries to catch Black Hole's attention by letting it land directly next to him. Tree appreciates what she has done and says he won't let it go to waste this time, and successfully catches Black Hole's attention just as planned.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Tree and the rest of Death P.A.C.T. Again attempt to get batteries to bring back Remote to life again. After countless attempts of asking Robot Flower and making a deal with Cloudy, Remote finally gets recovered and immediately apologizes for the outcome of the last challenge. However, Tree makes sure to comfort her, saying that both he and the entire team appreciated her effort in the said challenge. Later, during the challenge, which is to make the tallest stack out of the building blocks, Tree can be seen recovering Remote serveral times after getting burned by acid. He also compliments her when she volunteers to follow Pillow to keep an eye on her afterwards.
In "Getting Puffball To Think About Rollercoaster", before the challenge, when Two introduces the contestants to their 'A-Two-sment Park', Remote mentions how much she enjoys this place. However, Tree firmly informs her that this place is currently closed down and there are no attractions around. Remote replies by seemingly being aware and apparently valuing minimalism. Later, during the challenge, while Tree can be seen enjoying himself by bouncing around his team's landing pads next to their built attraction, Black Hole demands him to stop and Remote adds on that the landing pads are particularity there for safety measurements, specifically death prevention. Despite being quite upset, Tree seems to understand either way.
In "Gardening Zero", Remote, Tree and the rest of Death Pact Again get transported into a jungle to take care of the Funny Plant, which is also the episode's challenge. When the plant gets electrocuted because of Lightning, Remote exclaims how it's down to 15% health. This makes Tree become worried, now that the Funny Plant is seemingly already dying. Later in the episode, when Puffball gets into the Funny Plant's castle Tree built so she could destroy it, he, Remote, and the rest of the team start yelling at her to get out of it. Puffball later sends Ice Cube into the jungle and puts her into the position where the Funny Plant is getting water instead of soil. Tree frantically tells Remote Puffball's clever and she advices the team just to pull Ice Cube out. However, Tree warns her that the walls of the flower's castle are indestructible. Afterwards, when Remote manages to bounce in either way, Tree congratulates her.
Fanon[]
Treemote used to be a very popular ship for both Tree and Remote in the Battle for Dream Island fandom back in early BFDI: The Power of Two (TPOT). In the season before, specifically Battle for BFDI, neither of them have directly interacted with each other even once, with the only hint for the pairing being when Four said the ship name as Tree and Remote were declared safe:
- Tree-Mote! Also safe!
- —Four, Fortunate Ben
This did cause some people to get interested in the ship due to the twos' similarities, those especially being their actions and personalities. Either way, that wouldn't change its state of Treemote still being a way too rarely to see ship.
However, that ended up changing in early TPOT, which was introduced after Battle for BFDI's split. As both Tree and Remote still remained on the same team, they started to get more interactions over the time, making the ship rise in popularity because of their seemingly enjoyable dynamic as a duo relationship. Unfortunately though, after Remote's elimination, many fans have moved on and started to get interested in other, new pairings. Examples being Astrobiology (Black Hole/Tree) and FanTree (Fanny/Tree) on Tree's side, and Piemote (Pie/Remote) on Remote's side.
Even due to Remote's elimination and Tree still competing in TPOT, additionally with the fact that the season is planned to have a rejoiner come back to the contest soon, Treemote may or may not manage to get more interactions/moments and rise in popularity again if she manages to be the one to rejoin the show. That especially because a lot of people in the community are planning to vote for her, proof being discussions on other platforms such as YouTube.
On AO3, the two currently share 25+ works under the romantic tag and around 5+ works under the platonic tag.
