Trife is the slash ship between Knife and Trophy from the Inanimate Insanity fandom.
Canon[]
In "Breaking the Ice", Knife says he can break ice like butter. Trophy makes fun of him, comparing his fists to pillows. During the challenge, Trophy says he should form an alliance with Knife. Knife says he is not interested, saying he and Trophy are different. Trophy is confused and says they're both jocks. Knife corrects him that Trophy's the jock and he's the jerk. He tries settling everything until Knife punches him into the water. During the actual first challenge, Trophy tells Knife to give all of the balls to him. Cheesy makes a joke about it but gets hit by Trophy. Knife confronts him, saying it's awful to hit his own teammate. He proves himself to be a hypocrite, as he throws a ball at him.
In "Marsh on Mars", Trophy wonders where Knife is, saying he's the only cool person. He spots him sitting under a tree and talking to his Dora doll. To embarrass him, Trophy takes a picture of him. He tells him he will show it to everyone. Knife panics and tells him he would do anything. Trophy takes that as a promise.
In "Tri Your Best", Trophy tells Knife to get him a protein milkshake and calls him a slave. Knife gets offended, but Trophy shows him the picture he took, so he accepts to do it. When he asks if he wants vanilla or chocolate, Trophy throws shards of glass at him, saying he wants banana blast. Before the challenge, Trophy tells Knife he should participate. Knife tries to disagree but keeps remembering the promise. After the challenge, Trophy notices Knife's broken leg and says he's mad at him for the team losing the challenge.
In "Cooking for the Grater Good", Knife is seen feeding Trophy grapes. Trophy asks him how to say grapes in Spanish, poking fun at his Dora doll. He then asks Knife if he can turn on the ventilation, to which he pulls out Fan and uses him. Knife eventually grows tired and yells at Trophy to show everyone the picture. As he is pulling it out, Knife warns him he has grape juice on his chin. When Trophy showed everyone the photo, nobody seemed to care. Knife reminded him he's the jock and he (Knife)'s the jerk. Trophy tells him to jump off a bridge and walks away. During Trophy's elimination, he stomps on Box furious how he lost to a cardboard box. Knife gets angry and goes to attack him. He punches him into the portal to Hotel OJ.
In "The Reality of the Situation", Knife walks over to Trophy, who is drinking a can of Dr. Fizz. Trophy comments how he has gotten softer since their first meeting and how he might let Suitcase win. Knife says he would beat her in the challenge, to which Trophy disagrees. Knife tries to prove him he changed as a person. Trophy then, playfully, asks if he wants to punch him, to which he asks if he's offering. Trophy comes to the conclusion that Knife would only do something with his permission. After the argument, he crunches his can, throws it on the ground and leaves.
In "Objects in Mirror", Trophy says it's classy of Knife to not show up at MePad's "funeral". After realising that Knife is dead, he exclaims that he feels like a jerk. Knife corrects him that he's still a jock.
Fanon[]
Trife is a well-known ship, yet notoriously a topic of negative discussion in the Inanimate Insanity fandom. It's still liked within a small, strong community- especially amongst those who are fans of the 'enemies-to-lovers' trope. Fans often like how Knife accepted being Trophy's assistant (e.g. giving him food and drinks, ventilating him, etc). The episodes that may have brought light to the ship are "Breaking the Ice" and "Marsh on Mars", in which Trophy views Knife as a cool person, even asking to form an alliance with him. Another episode that sparked the ship is "Objects in Mirror", in which Trophy feels like a jerk after making fun of Knife not coming alongside the other contestants in the memory of MePad. Rivals of the ship include Knifecase, Tropheesy and Knickle.
