Troll Dads is the slash ship between Blinky Galadrigal and AAARRRGGHH!!! from the Tales of Arcadia fandom.

Canon

AAARRRGGHH!!! was raised as a Gumm-Gumm warrior to serve Gummar ever since he was taken away from his family at a young age and forced his body to adapt, while Blinky is from one of the good troll clans who don't wish to serve under Gumm-Gumm rule. This had the two meeting as enemies at the Battle of Killahead Bridge, where AAARRRGGHH!!! nearly killed Blinky but saving Blinky's friend, Kanjigar from Bular kept him from doing so. After Gummar and his army was sealed away, while AAARRRGGHH!!! fleeing from the battle saved him from that fate, he follows Blinky and the other Trolls as they journey to find a new home. When AAARRRGGHH!!! was caught by them, the troll's past and Blinky's fear that AAARRRGGHH!!! might be a spy has him suggesting that they kill the former Gumm-Gumm warrior, but Kanjigar convinced his fellow trolls to spear him and Vendel allows AAARRRGGHH!!! to become a member of their tribe, much to Blinky's dismay. As he tries to tell Kanjigar that welcoming a Gumm-Gumm into their tribe is a bad idea and he doesn't trust AAARRRGGHH!!!, but Kanjigar reassures Blinky that AAARRRGGHH!!!'s act of him giving them back Daye remines is proof that there is good in him and how he as taught him that trolls can change. Blinky's time with AAARRRGGHH!!! and seeing the redeemed troll fighting to help their tribe from Craggen got him to understand what Kanjigar meant, along with Blinky finally excepting AAARRRGGHH!!! as he saves him from one of Craggen's brothers. The two then fought beside each other until Kanjigar defeats Craggen by "kicking him in the gronk nuts." During the celebration of their victory AAARRRGGHH!!! renounced his violent ways to become a pacifist, along with him and Blinky becoming true friends.

Trollhunters

When Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! found out that their new Trollhunter is a human boy named Jim Lake Jr., the two take it upon themselves to inform the human of the hidden world that the Amulet of Daylight has chosen him to protect, along with over seeing Jim's training as well as Toby's when Jim got his friend involved. As AAARRRGGHH!!! helps Blinky to train Jim and assist the new Trollhunter with his duties, the two trolls became close with the two young humans.

In the two weeks after Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! lost their home and a large number of their fellow trolls taken away from them by Gummar and were able to help the rest of Team Trollhunters get the surviving trolls to safety, along with keeping them and the rest of Arcadia safe by placing Gumm-Gumm deterrent spelled signs all around town. As they work on a plan to defeat Gummar. After they took out a Gumm-Gumm who had found the location of their hidden friends, AAARRRGGHH!!! takes the fallen Gumm-Gumm's helmet so he can pass for one when he volunteered to spy on Gummar. Blinky feared for AAARRRGGHH!!!'s safety and asked his friend if he sure about his plan, AAARRRGGHH!!! says that he is and Blinky gives him his support. When AAARRRGGHH!!! returned to where they placed their fellow trolls, Blinky mistook him for a Gumm-Gumm who came to attack them until he took the Gumm-Gumm helmet off, Blinky was relieved to see him until AAARRRGGHH!!! informs Blinky and Jim that Gummar wishes to summon the Eternal Night, and when real Gumm-Gumms found them AAARRRGGHH!!! fights them while Blinky helps their fellow trolls escape. Because they were found, Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! have their tribe hide all across Arcadia, until they are finally able to reclaim their home back from Gummar.

Wizards

The slightly altered past timeline version of how Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!!!'s past selves met in Wizards is a bit different from the original version, but the bond they forged with one another remains the same. Like Blinky had once said in part one of 3Below, "Truest of friendships have the power to transcend both time and space."

Some time before Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! were reunited on the flouting Camelot Castle, the six eyed troll and his friends were attacked by the Green Knight of the Arcane Order and was injured from the battle. While the magical shard in Jim's chest places his life in danger and forces Merlin to encase Jim in a green crystal stasis chamber, to keep the shard from making the ret of its way to Jim's heart. After AAARRRGGHH!!! was brought to the flying castle by Merlin, he is reunited with Blinky the joy of seeing his friend again gets him to pull Blinky, Toby and Claire into a group hug, before they tell him and the others with AAARRRGGHH!!! what they had went through. When Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!!'s friends, Jim and Claire were accidently sent to the past with Steve and Douxie, the two remined in the present with the others as they wonder where and when they were sent to.

In the mid-12th century timeline, Douxie and the others changed the lead up events to the Battle of Killahead Bridge when they freed the magical creatures from King Arthur's dungeon and accidently damaged the bond between the King and his magic wielding half sister, Morgana. This had Gummar send AAARRRGGHH!!! to the Troll sanctuary Blinky resided in with his brother, in an attempt to scare the good trolls into joining Gummar in the upcoming battle, but the actions of both Jim and Callista led to AAARRRGGHH!!!'s captured and because of the words Blinky used before the Gumm-Gumm warrior's capture, AAARRRGGHH!!! gets placed in his care. This had AAARRRGGHH!!! hating Blinky and he tells him so when a scared Blinky bearing socks for the troll goes to check up on him, but AAARRRGGHH!!!'s predicament kept him from hurting Blinky. Blinky listening to AAARRRGGHH!!!'s worries of what Gummar would do to him once he learns that he has failed him and vice-versa with AAARRRGGHH!!! listening to Blinky as he tells him how he feels like failure himself, along with him being a weakling and a pacifist. AAARRRGGHH!!! didn't know what a pacifist is and asks Blinky to explain it to him, which he does. Due to the bond two began to form with one another, Blinky sets AAARRRGGHH!!! free and before he leaves AAARRRGGHH!!! tells Blinky that he likes him, and Blinky was placed by this.

During the Battle of Killahead Bridge, AAARRRGGHH!!! came to aid Blinky as he saves his life before telling Blinky that he has AAARRRGGHH!!! hope. The two then go off to find Dictatious, who later gets suck into the dark lands with Gummar and his Gumm-Gumm army, while AAARRRGGHH!!! was spared. Blinky was ended by this as he felt alone without his bother, AAARRRGGHH!!! was also alone so he asks Blinky if they be can alone together. Blinky smiles at his new friend as he tells AAARRRGGHH!!! "I would enjoy a companion", before they shake hands in friendship. The two then watch the young warriors from the future return back to their timeline, where Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!!'s 21 century selves are waiting for them.

• AAARRRGGHH!!! was out of control and in his Gumm-Gumm state he begins to attack Draal. Until Blinky snapped AAARRRGGHH!!! out of it by saying "Be cool, baby."

Troll Dads is seen as the main slash ship between the two friendly trolls in the Tales of Arcadia fandom. The ship's support grew after the Troll Dads moments that there shown in the past events of Wizards. In some fanfics of the two meeting Jim as a child, Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! are featured as co-parents to the human they take a shine to. Along with there being fans who sometimes draw human versions of the two in their Troll Dads fanart.

On AO3, the ship as 125 fanfics, while FanFiction.Net has 33 with only four in its Trollhunters category. Along with the ship having a descent size fanbase on Tumblr.

Trivia

• The ship's name is due to the fact that both Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! are father-like figures to Jim and Toby. As they fill in a void that was left by the absence of their fathers, with Jim's walking out on him and his mother to be with another woman while Toby lost both of his parents to a tragedy at sea.
• In a merchandise book called "Jim Lake Jr.'s Survival Guide", Blinky refers to AAARRRGGHH!!! as his counterpart.
• In a tie-in book called "The Book of Ga-Huel", Blinky refers to AAARRRGGHH!!! as baby to release him from the Gumm-Gumm side.
• Because part one of 3Beblow takes place during part three of Trollhunters, Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! appear together in "D'aja Vu" with the rest of Team Trollhunters as they meet House Tarron, but the changed timeline wiped their memories of them and the friendship they forged with the Akiridions and vice-versa in order to keep their secrets safe from the rest of Arcadia. While part two of 3Beblow continues after Trollhunters, with AAARRRGGHH!!! staying behind in the town while Blinky left Arcadia with the others.
  • "Race to Trollmarket" revels part of Blinky's battle with the Green Knight, that is later explained in the first episode of Wizards when Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! are reunited.
