TsubaHono is the femslash ship between Honoka Kosaka and Tsubasa Kira from the Love Live! fandom.

School Idol Project

On her way to school one day, Honoka's eye catches a large TV screen playing a song. Seeing Tsubasa and her idol group A-RISE, Honoka is in awe, and then inspired to start a group of her own. After establishing an idol group, the two teams consider each other rivals in the Love Live! competition.

In episode three of season 2, Honoka is outside UTX, looking at it. Out of nowhere, Tsubasa suddenly appears and takes Honoka's wrist and drags her into the school. This shocks Honoka's friends. Inside, Tsubasa tells Honoka she is so much more charming in person than on video. Tsubasa then offers to µ's that they share the same stage, the rooftop of UTX, for the upcoming Love Live! competition. On the day of the event, Honoka and Tsubasa shake hands, both promising to give it their all.

After μ's beats A-RISE in the second Love Live!'s preliminary finals, the two groups now consider each other friends rather than rivals like they used to. Honoka and the others briefly talk with A-RISE on New Years where Tsubasa tells them that they better win Love Live!. Later in episode 10, Tsubasa once again asks to talk with Honoka, this time only Honoka, as a leader-to-leader conversation. During μ's performance at the Love Live! finals, A-RISE supports them and cheers for an encore along with the rest of the crowd.

School Idol Movie

Tsubasa calls Honoka and Honoka rushes over to meet her. Honoka gets embarrassed after Tsubasa points out that she's still in her pyjamas. Tsubasa invites her into a car with her other group members and she asks where Honoka's next concert is going to be. Tsubasa sees Honoka's face and can tell something's wrong. After hearing Honoka's situation of whether or not to disband μ's after the third-years graduate, Tsubasa tells her of A-RISE's decision to continue after graduation and gives Honoka their group manager's card. Tsubasa says that Honoka and her group is free to make their decision, but she would love it if μ's were to continue being idols.

Honoka later meets with Tsubasa again after coming to a decision. Honoka asks Tsubasa for A-RISE to perform with them. Tsubasa tries to say what Honoka is thinking in different words, and gets it spot on. Honoka wants A-RISE to join them, along with all other school idol groups in making a show that will ensure Love Live! will continue to run. Tsubasa says they will participate, as long as μ's writes a song that is fit for all school idols. Honoka eagerly accepts, and runs off. Tsubasa smiles at her after she leaves.

Fanon

TsubaHono is often shipped when everyone except Honoka is put into a pairing and she is left out (usually by the most popular Love Live pairings: NozoEli, NicoMaki, KotoUmi and RinPana), since μ's is made up of an uneven number. The ship sailed due to Tsubasa's sudden decisions to talk with Honoka and their respect for each other. Although the two have much less interactions than others, the ship is still quite popular, partly due to the fact that both are the leaders of their teams and had a rivalry in the beginning.

Many TsubaHono shippers believe that Tsubasa secretly has a crush on Honoka and finds her attractive. Fanworks often portray Tsubasa as the more forthcoming or dominant one in the relationship. Tsubasa is also often secretly a mega fan of μ's and Honoka, and is the first to recognize her feelings out of the two. TsubaHono is Honoka's second most popular ship, right behind HonoUmi and rivalling KotoHono. It is also Tsubasa's most popular ship, with no notable rival ships.

• In episode 12 of Sunshine!! a young child is briefly on screen, with a similar hairstyle and personality to Honoka, and eyes like Tsubasa's. Some theorize that this mystery child is actually Honoka and Tsubasa's child.
