Canon[]

Breath of the Wild[]

Link first meets with Tulin as he walks around in the village and when spoken to and regardless of Link's replies, he will say that kids are great greeters as he dad Teba always told him. He will also voice his wishes that his father will come home so he can go have fun at the Flight Range. Later after Vah Medoh is appeased, Tulin will be taken by Teba to the Flight Range. Tulin will finally acknowledge Link and notees that his dad told him all about him and he is a skilled archer and would not believe Link if he said he isn't. He will host a minigame for Link where he shoots the targets within the time limit and will reward him depending on how well he performs.

Age of Calamity[]

This is the only game where, despite the two of them being there (with Tulin only appearing in the Pack 2 DLC) where Link and Tulin do not interact at all.

Tears of the Kingdom[]

Due to Tulin's expanded role, Link and Tulin interact, story wise, far more often than they did previously. After the Upheaval begins with various strange and terrifying events happening, Rito Village falls under a blizzard that threatens the existence of the Rito. As Tulin argues with his parents, his mood changes as soon as he sees Link as his parents are relieved that he is okay after hearing that he vanished when the events began. Tulin leaves the village against his parents' wishes due to him not understanding that he needs to work with other people rather than doing everything on his own. and they tell Link to find him and ensure that he does not run into any trouble. Link is able to find Tulin, who had his Swallow Bow stolen by an Aerocoda and helps him get it back. Tulin realizes how childish he was acting with Harth confirming how the adults view him. As they near the top of the mountain in Hebra, Tulin hears a voice calling to him and he and Link head to the top where it becomes louder and clearer. They make it to the Windstorm Ark where they are instructed to activate the wind turbines to disable the locks. Once they remove the last one, Colgera appears leading them to conclude that it was responsible for the blizzard, and it must be taken down. Once they defeat the monster, the blizzard stops and Tulin touches the Secret Stone where he speaks with the Rito Sage who tells him the story of his battle with the Demon King with his allies and Rauru only managed to seal him and the Sage of Time warned that he will return far out in the future which he kept the Secret Stone hidden in the Wind Temple until the time came. Tulin accepts it and it attaches to his ankle as he passes his Vow of Tulin to Link. After that, they reunite with his parents, Tulin is given the Great Eagle Bow by Teba for his heroism.

Tulin, alongside the awakened Sages, save Link from Ganondorf's attack at Hyrule Castle while the Demon King showed them the full extent of his power through a vision, leaving the Sages concerned on what they are up against and head back down where Purah was. They discuss the recent events that have been occurring and with the knowledge of the ancient legend, only one Sage remains leading Link to find the fifth one. Once Link encounters Mineru, it was time to face the Demon King. Tulin and the Sages save Link again in the Gloom's Origin from the monsters and they fought together until they each fight their temple's bosses. Tulin and the Sages join with Link during the battle with Ganondorf, where the latter would swallow the Secret Stone, he stole from Queen Sonia to undergo draconification into the Demon Dragon and takes Link away, to the dismay of the Sages, only to be defeated by the hero and the Light Dragon. Rauru and Sonia help Link revert the transformation of the Light Dragon, who is Princess Zelda before disappearing. Later, Link, Tulin, and the Sages are brought by Mineru to the Great Sky Island before she vanishes after the Sages vow to protect Hyrule for all time.

Fanon[]

Fans find the friendship between Link and Tulin to be so adorable, that there are over thirty fan fics about their relationship in Archive of Our Own. There has also been a fair share of fan art that depicts the two of them together to show off their love of their friendship. The ships between them were very rare in Breath of the Wild due to Tulin's extremely minor role and not doing or having much to make him notable to them enough, but it wasn't until much later on, sometime before and after Tears of the Kingdom was released where the ships of them were becoming slightly more common than it did previously. They loved Tulin's reaction upon seeing Link again with an overjoyed look on his face which they find to be memorable. Just as Tulin looks up to Revali as his legendary hero, he also looks up to Link as well for the same reasons.
