TwiPie is the femslash ship between Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie from the My Little Pony fandom.

Friendship is Magic: Part 1 & 2[]
After receiving instructions from Princess Celestia, Twilight travels to Ponyville to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration event. While doing so, it is also stated that she should discover and form friendships with others as she does so. After clashing with many characters who will eventually become the members of the Mane Six, Spike encourages Twilight on their way to the library to be more open to forming friendships. When Pinkie Pie trots towards them, Twilight forms a simple hello. In return, the latter exasperatedly gasps before dashing out of sight. This confuses Twilight as her hopes of getting along with others becomes slimmer. Once arriving at the library, the traveling duo is met with a surprise party formed by Pinkie herself. She explains her strange behavior indicated her surprise when coming in contact with someone she had not recognized as a citizen within Ponyville. The party was meant for Twilight to have “lots and lots of friends”. Distracted by her ramblings, Twilight accidentally drinks hot sauce mistaking it for punch. She runs out of the room to the bedroom on the second floor. She complains that “making friends” is distracting her from her original task.
When Nightmare Moon’s predicted return occurs, Twilight explains that she knows how to defeat the villainess from a novel she had read, but is unaware of what the elements are capable of nor does she have any information on them whatsoever. Pinkie assists her and hands her the “Elements of Friendship: A Reference Guide”, which catches the latter by surprise. The Mane Six proceed to enter the Everfree Forest in search of them. When purple smoke forms nightmarish faces on the surrounding trees, everyone shows genuine fear except for Pinkie, which confuses Twilight. She begins to sing the Laughter Song and instantly changes the mood in the atmosphere and causes the tree faces to disappear. This earns her the Element of Laughter as Twilight announces it as they defeat Nightmare Moon. After the event, Pinkie throws yet another party to celebrate the sister’s reunion. Princess Celestia gains trust from Twilight after her brave battle and asks her to continue studying the element of friendship. Twilight promises to carry out this suggestion and study harder. This is when the friendship between Twilight and Pinkie ( along with others ) became official.
Feeling Pinkie Keen[]
While assisting Twilight with her spells, Spike catches sight of Pinkie ducking and hiding while donning an umbrella hat. When approached by Twilight, she explains that her Pinkie Sense ( a tail twitch ) is informing her that stuff will start falling from the sky, in which a skeptical Twilight has a frog land on her face. After dismissing the coincidence, Twilight resumes her practice. Pinkie’s tail begins to twitch again and she tries to warn the latter. Dismissing her warnings, Twilight falls into a ditch. Applejack confronts them, and when Twilight explains Pinkie’s twitching tail, she immediately dives for cover. Twilight is confused, and Applejack explains that the townsfolk have learned “if Pinkie’s a-twitchin’, you better listen”. After stating this, the Pinkie Sense occurs again and Pinkie offers Twilight a bath. Much to the surprise of the latter, moments after the words were spoken, her body was covered in mud after a nearby hay cart ran over a mud puddle and accidentally splashed her.
There are many times when the Pinkie Sense occurs and attacks Twilight: During her bath, Pinkie’s pet alligator, Gummy, emerged from the water after sensing there would be an alligator in the tub. A combo of twitches sensed opening doors, in which she gets smashed by an opening door in the library by Spike. The previous occurrence happens again, but in the basement, even when claimed the door opens from the other side. She gets chased by a swarm of bees. She falls into a cellar. She continually gets crushed by heavy objects. An unexplained shiver sensed a danger within the Foggy Bottom Frog, in which a hydra appears and chases the ponies.
When cornered by the enemy, Twilight distracts it while her friends cross the stepping stone pillars. The hydra smashes one of the heads into the pillars, leaving a domino effect before she could join them. Pinkie states through her senses that she must take a “leap of faith” to successfully cross, in which the latter hesitates but does so. When she lands safely, Pinkie surprisingly says that the “doozy” wasn’t the hydra. This enrages Twilight, but she allowed herself to give in to the truth of the Pinkie Sense and believe for it to exist. When she admits this, it turns out that believing in her friend was the “doozy” and Pinkie would never have guessed that it would happen. The events help Twilight learn that you shouldn’t put disbelief in something just because you don’t understand it.
A Trivial Pursuit[]
Twilight is excited for Trivia Trot and is determined to further her three win streak. She and Spike arrive at the Hay Burger restaurant where the event is being held. She notices many of her friends attending as well. However, Pinkie, who had never participated before, decides to join. This causes Twilight to panic with the anxiety of being paired with her. To her worst nightmare, the thought actually happens, and Pinkie is elated just to be her partner. When the game starts, Pinkie immediately starts giving wrong answers. When Twilight attempts to lift themselves in points, Pinkie serves as a constant distraction with her inattentiveness, interrupting her train of thought and affecting their points greatly. During the break, Twilight complains to Spike that her partner is ruining her chances of continuing her streak, but she is afraid of hurting her feelings if she confronts her herself.
Spike suggests that she should pay attention to herself instead of who she is partnered with, but she decides to pay attention to the other teams instead. She works her way into getting them eliminated and or deducted points. When Pinkie is aware of the questions and knows how to answer them, Twilight prevents her from doing so, whether she knew them or not. As the game progresses, so does Twilight’s negative perspective on Pinkie as a hindrance. Her attention is shifted towards a male contestant, Sunburst, who is viewed as a potential help. Whilst Sunburst’s partner was already eliminated due to being caught sleeping, Twilight tricks Pinkie into breaking a rule to become disqualified herself, which allows Sunburst to replace her, much to Pinkie’s disappointment.
However, he doesn’t become the best teammate Twilight expected, for when he notices how exhausted the latter is, he continues to take over the game himself to maintain his correct-answer percentage and refuses to let her answer any questions, just like how she did with Pinkie. Not wanting his percentage to drop further, he makes an attempt at tricking Twilight into breaking the rules, just like how she did with Pinkie. Despite his trickery failing to get to her, she realizes the bad intent she had put on her close friend through her experience with Sunburst and is overwhelmed with guilt. When Sunburst is repaired with his former partner, Twilight brings Pinkie back to the team and apologizes for her actions. She explains that despite losing, it’s important to have fun together and puts her winning streak aside. This episode highlights the ship, for it announces “TwiPie” being their team name which is later transformed into their ship name.
Party Pooped[]
Twilight is stressed about the soon to arrive royal resident of Yakyakistan. Aware that the residents are remote from Equestria and have no knowledge of their lifestyle, she strives to make a good first impression until Princess Celestia returns. Confronted by yak Prince Rutheford, she offers them a banquet of traditional yak cuisine as a greeting, but unfortunately he hates the food and his fellow yaks proceed to destroy the castle foyer. Shocked by this, she asks Pinkie to make them comfortable until the friendship party begins. When Pinkie awkwardly accepts, the latter gives her an appreciative hug. Pinkie, through many failed attempts, tries her hardest to meet her friends’ favor and eventually boards a ride to the Crystal Empire to arrive at Yakyakistan to receive more information there.
While she was away, she left a note for her friends’ to find. Before they found it, Twilight became increasingly stressed over Pinkie’s sudden disappearance. Before a yak could lead Pinkie through the gates when she arrives, she accidentally slides back down the slope on her sled, making her journey a wasted effort. When she returns to her bedroom, she discovers that Twilight accidentally accessed her trapdoor to Pinkie’s secret party basement and falls inside along with the others. She joins them and begins to lament her failure as a party planner. Twilight, with the support of her friends, states otherwise and supports her. This encourages Pinkie to have one last idea. She catches up with the yaks who were returning to their region and invites them to the friendship party and apologizes, explaining that instead of trying to make her hometown appear as something else, instead she should have shown its true colors.

- In “The Ending of the End”, Pinkie absorbs Discord’s powers for a brief moment before he retrieves them. When she falls from the sky after being shrunk down to her normal size, Twilight catches her as Pinkie begins to sputter nonsense.
- In “Luna Eclipsed”, Pinkie is constantly showing fear towards Luna. Twilight teleports in front of Pinkie to block her path and pins her down to confront her, but Pinkie reveals that being scared is entertaining, which gives Twilight an idea to help Luna.

Fanon[]
TwiPie, while not being the most popular within the fandom, is a big ship between Twilight and Pinkie. Due to their contrasting personalities, it triggers the opposites attract trope. The pairing activates a sun and moon trope as well, for Pinkie’s cheerful and child-like nature resembles the “sun”, whilst Twilight’s tranquil and mature side resembles the “moon”. Their closeness throughout the series sparked the ships popularity; A Trivial Pursuit being the highlight for the ship and the donor of the ship name and many others. A notable sign of their love language is the frequent hugs that are more so delivered from Pinkie. Their humorous friendship causes Twilight to not fully understand the latter or her intentions as she tries to find rational reasoning behind Pinkie's silly nature and her cartoonish characteristics.
Although the rival ship SunsetSparkle overcomes their numbers in fanfics on A03, many SunsetSparkle shippers prefer to pair SciTwi, Twilight Sparkle's human counterpart, with Sunset, leaving the canonical character with Pinkie. TwiPie is commonly shipped alongside FlutterDash and RariJack, as these are arguably very popular pairings as well.
