UmeSugi is the slash ship between Hajime Umemiya and Kyotaro Sugishita from the Wind Breaker fandom.
Canon[]
He was an underclassman of Umemiya that deeply respects him. It was said that he frequently visited Furin High School even since when he was in middle school.
History[]
Back then when he was young, he was fighting a group of male students, when he realized he didn't even try that he did even his own power to fight that he always hated annoying things. At the abandoned warehouse while he's fighting with these guys, Umemiya stopped them to clap his hands and he's from the Dai-ichi Junior High. He ask to them why they're pummeling each other because it was his fault while they were fighting, he goes to him and he's asking him but he tries to ignored but he glanced at him, he's just an awkward little guy but he's now his friend that he met but they twitched and everyone walks away. He ask his name but he Sugishita introduced his name and he nice to meet him to each other. Umemiya welcomed him to invited with his friends, the people there were all incredibly kind and friendly that they accepted him. He never imagined it when he greet the others to give food and others needed, the reason why is so comfortable, it's because this place that he built, that's why he just need to stay by him forever.
While the four of them sitting on a table at the cafe, now he's finally in a junior high and the four of them are third-years in the middle school. While the three of them give gifts for him, he bought a shirt for him that it was a matching t-shirt same like him, he thanks him so much and he'll give a try to wear it. He was squirming, he thought he don't like t-shirts with prints but this one is fine for him. While sitting, Umemiya mentioned about hiiragi that he met before, they're going to enroll a dangerous delinquent school called "Furin High" and drag everyone into one big revolution. but he'll help him with them to go in Furin High be he believed and smile and he thanks to him. He knew that everything believed in was right, all he had to do was to follow him.
After Umemiya graduated in middle school and enrolled Furin High while he's still in middle school, he would always visited this place called Furin High. His passion and his talent made him the only person who was allowed to join Boufuurin before he actually attending it. He was admired by Umemiya and has always followed in his footsteps. He also understood his passion and determination, and even if he's allowed to join the team. He was absolutely loyal towards the current top. Even though his admiration can be a bit extreme. At the rooftop while he's planting, he smiled and he helps him to plant the vegetables.
Shishitoren Arc[]
When everyone came at the rooftop to se Umemiya, he plant the vegetables he did. When they heard Tomiyama holding a megaphone that he beat a Boufurin member, everyone goes downstairs to have a collision. In 18 hours prior at Café Pothos, he was hearing about Umemiya's relationship with Kotoha, if he has a girlfriend but turns out she's like a little sister that they grew up in the same facility. Sakura asking about her age if she's like 20's, but Sugishita throws a chair but Umemiya brings back the chair because he did it. She serves omurice to everyone to eat for dinner. After that, they're leaving because they're preparing for a one-on-one fight.
On the next day, they all go to the headquarters of Shishitoren to have a one-on-one fight contest. Sugishita is gonna fight with Arime and Umemiya will be watching him fight. He beat Arima up while he views at him. After he beat him, he goes off the stage and he welcoming him back. He cheek pat to him that he've always been thick in the head of after all and he's going back to seat and watched them fight. After the fight of Togame and Sakura, Sugishita is gonna watch him fight with Tomiyama. After the fight, they're having a after party like a picnic because they're now friends with Shishitoren. After that, they go back to Café Pothos and they celebrate. She serves coffee to everyone, he saw Sakura spit take to him but Sugishita gets made but Hiiragi calms him down. After their discussion. He holds and breaks the table t crush him but Hiiragi calms him down to stop it and he laughs at them.
KEEL Arc[]
At the rooftop, Umemiya introduced the Four Heavenly Kings to everyone, he was over there has been working to the bone to help for planting the vegetables.
Umemiya's Backstory Arc[]
When everyone are discussing at the rooftop, he served paper cups to everyone, he thanks to him even he helped him carry all this here. He crumpled the paper cup because Sakura was so annoyed to him but Umemiya don't want him to be mean and do not waste the cups. He puts down the cup on the table and he pats his shoulders, he did his great job and now the cups won't be wasted. They're having a discussion about the origin of Boufurin and even Noroshi. While discussing, he grits at Sakura but he raised to his to stop it first while talking to Sakura.
Noroshi Arc[]
On that day, they're planting the vegetables at the rooftop. He ask him if he likes Sakura, he felt aggressive but he laugh that he looks at that face. He've never actually expressed his emotions to anyone outside of fighting. He ask him if he wants a drink to him. He gives a water bottle and he don't get him wrong that he's happy. He was talking about Sakura that if he feel toward him is just competitive rivalry. He've finally taken an interest in someone else. He members that ever since the day that they met each other, he have always stuck next to him. He know that he look up to him. He tump and puts down the water bottle on a table, but he don't want to become his whole world. He's asking do he think people can get stronger and grow bigger if they eat nothing but rice. He answers a no. He explains about it that the same with eating only vegetables and only meat is not gonna do, either people have to eat a variety food, get a bunch of different nutrients. In order to grow bigger and stronger for it. It's the same with what's inside us to them. He have to meet all kinds of people take in their effects on him and let their influences blended in mix. In order to build a new himself. That way, on his own can grow bigger and stronger too. People are made up of the food that they eat and the people they meet. He knows it and just like the man he've had his eyes Sakura. His world has grown rather large to him so he just learned about it and remember it.
At the strategy meeting, Mizuki will announced the map of Makochi where all of the Boufurin members will be stationed at the location of this map. The Tamon team will be stationed here will defend the river at the three bridges and Umemiya will be stationed will remained at the school grounds, it means he's not allowed to leave the school grounds during a battle, if anyone sees him in the town, or else they're gonna ignore the rest of them and destroy the town instead.
After the battle, Sugishita is making barbeque at the rooftop, he looks up and views the sky and Umemiya has arrived upstairs and everyone came at the rooftop and they were gonna have a celebratory toast.
Post-Battle Celebration Arc[]
The next morning, Sugishita is with the Four Heavenly Kings at the rooftop while they're sitting down on a table and Umemiya has arrived and he says good morning and he ask him did he checked on the garden. He serves sandwiches and he wants to him for join for breakfast but he didn't need it so he wanted to ask if how are thing going with Sakura but he spit take his drink and his nose bleed, they give a tissue to him and he wipes his nose and they're talking about what happened during the battle, Hiiragi and Hiiragi and Tsubaki talking about the post-battle since they repaired the town. While talking, He don't really understand he wants to know that he don't understand. He explains while they were fighting, he thought he was kinda, but everyone ask if the letter C is what it looks like but he regrets but he would just don't understand. But he gets aggressive while sweating but Umemiya smiled at him and he glanced at the plants what he remembers back then.
While planting, he tell him to make sure he'll drink lots of water. He mentioned earlier they were all talking about Sakura but he looked pretty torn. But he thinks that's a wonderful thing for him, but he don't think so. He ask him if he's angry but he don't know. But the important is coming to term with himself to try and find the words on his own, that's how everyone grows bigger and stronger. But it might be easier to speak to someone, who's more suited for this conversation, someone who knows about Sakura even better than him.
After Sugishita fighting with the other delinquents, he came back to the rooftop to see him. He ask him to be here to check on the plants and he thanks for taking care of it, he propose to him that he's quitting be he thought he's quitting at this school. He's not quitting this school because he'll stop with what he've been doing this but it sounds good for him. He tells him to take his time with no point of rushing. If he can't figure out how he'll explain it right now, he'll hear him out to use his words.
If he don't change, then he'll never beat him, he won't be able to protect this place better than anyone. That is why he won't avoid tha things that annoys anything, the things he didn't like, and he won't take the easy way out anymore. He's going to quit doijng what he've been doing but Umemiya hear it right and sounds good for him. He pomf his shoulder to say good luck for him and he bows for him and he was so proud of him for what he did.
