Undertale Trio is the familyship between Asriel Dreemurr, Chara and Frisk from the Undertale fandom.
Canon[]
However, the protagonist can find out about them when visiting the True Lab after helping Alphys with her date with Undyne. Away from Alphys' lab entries, she had kept a selection of VHS tapes from the Dreemurr Family with a TV on hand. Though the first tape merely shows Toriel joking around with Asgore while pregnant with Asriel, the second skips a few years to Asriel being old enough to talk. He is talking to a friend, the name confirms that Asriel's friend was the fallen child and Asriel is trying to film them making a "creepy face" but failing since the lid was still on the lense. The third tape starts with Asriel telling the human to smile, only to prank them by deliberately leaving the lid on this time. Though Asriel is responding to something the human child said, the protagonist cannot hear it in the recording. They reminded Asriel of accidentally putting buttercups instead of cups of butter into Toriel's pie, making Asgore really sick. Asriel felt sorry, but the fallen laughed it off. However, as hinted at in the third and confirmed in the fourth, the fallen was actually trying to tell Asriel that they plan to eat the buttercups themselves. Additional info in the True Lab reveals that monsters can absorb human SOULs if the human is weakened enough, Asriel wants to use the fallen child's SOUL to break the barrier and free their kind. The last tape has Toriel and Asgore incredibly worried that the fallen child won't wake, but it can still communicate with Asriel to tell them to gather six other types of SOULs and enact their plan.
On their way back to fight Asgore to escape the underground, the protagonist hears the full story of Asriel and Chara by a variety of monsters who had all gathered just to tell them about it. When the first human fell into the underground, it cried for help, Asriel had heard their cries and helped them up immediately. The protagonist is told that Asriel saw the human as his sibling and that his parents treated the human child as their own. However, just as there was hope for peaceful coexistence between previously-at-war humans and monsters, the human child became very ill. On its deathbed, it had only one request: to see the golden flowers near their village again, but none of the monsters knew how they could fulfill it. When the human died the next day, Asriel was so wrecked with grief that he absorbed the human's SOUL, powering himself up enough to phase through the barrier with the child in his arms. He carried the human to the center of the human village to lay it into a bed of flowers. However, the villagers panicked upon seeing Asriel carry the corpse of a child and immediately thought that he was its murderer. They immediately attacked him with everything they had, however, Asriel did not fight back even though he easily could've. Asriel withstood their attacks, placing the child down and stumbling home seriously injured. But as soon as he arrived in his father's garden, he collapsed and turned to dust, which was scattered all across the flowers. Everyone, especially Asgore and Toriel were horrified to hear the news, the protagonist heard that they lost two children in one night to the humans. Asgore decided to deal with his grief by retribution, ordering every human who fell underground to be killed immediately to harvest their SOULs and break the barrier. As the protagonist had learned in the True Lab, the remains of Asriel and the Determination extracted from the fallen child's SOUL were used by Alphys to create a being that could live on without a soul of their own.
When fighting Asgore now, all the friends the protagonist had made up to this point will stand by their side, eventually convincing Asgore to not go through with killing another child. But just as they all agree to look after the protagonist together, Flowey reveals that it was all part of his plan to gather as many monsters in one place to absorb all of them and restore his original form. Asriel reveals himself to the protagonist, mistaking them for the fallen child they had as a friend before harnessing the power of the entire underground to become a god. He tells the protagonist that he's tired of repeating the same path over and over, instead wanting to undo all the events that led to both of their deaths, but doing that would mean that the protagonist would never befriend the monsters and that they would still be trapped underground. The protagonist manages to depower Asriel by stripping him of his control over the souls he had absorbed. But then the protagonist realized that saving their friends is not enough, they have to save Asriel as well and do so by reminding him of the fallen child. Asriel lets go of the souls, realizing that the protagonist is right and instead uses the human SOULs and his own to break the barrier.
Backtracking to the very beginning of the game before going to the surface has Asriel take care of the flowers in the Ruins. Asriel will refer to the protagonist by their real name "Frisk", revealing that he no longer has a soul and can't come with them to the surface else he reverts to being Flowey again. He then asks Frisk why they climbed the mountain, but receives no answer, instead he tells them that he knows why the fallen child had climbed the mountain. He spares Frisk the details, saying that the fallen hated humanity and climbed the mountain for "not a very happy reason". Asriel then tells Frisk that they are nothing like the fallen, despite looking a lot like them, yet he doesn't understand why he ever thought they were the same person. He then laments that his best friend wasn't a good person, Frisk is the friend he always wanted but could never have, thinking that maybe he wanted Frisk to be the fallen. Asriel then tells Frisk one last thing: When he absorbed the fallen's SOUL, they gained control over his body and they were the one who wanted to kill the humans in the village who were hurting him. However, Asriel partially regrets resisting, thinking that it would've prevented him from getting trapped as a souless flower. However, he reassures himself that he did the right thing, killing those humans would've only led to more war and more deaths, so Asriel tells Frisk to go to the surface with their friends and remember him as he is.

This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it.
Given that the three children are the ones who influence the story of the game the most, many fans want to see how they would interact in a group. Though most of it is through alternate endings that manage to revive Asriel (and sometimes Chara), some fans think that Chara's SOUL lives on in Frisk, which is heavily hinted at in the Genocide route. This would allow for a post-mortem reunion between the two siblings and their mutual new friend.
Though many fans enjoy the idea of shipping them in a polycule, mostly to stop the fighting between Chasriel, Friskriel and Charisk shippers, most fans keep them platonic.
