The Elysian Kingdom[]
Erica and Una are portraying characters from a fairytale. The actions in this episode do not reflect the characters relationship outside of the episode.
Erica (as Adya) is fighting several of the crimson guard when they corner her. Several arrows then fly through the air and knock the guards to the ground. A huntress reveals herself to be Una (as Z'ymira) as the guard run away. She walks over to Erica who is happy to see her as they hug. Erica says that Una was supposed to call but Una says it's been a busy time. Erica says a raven couldn't have been too much trouble and Una asks that they don't do this now. She saved her life, that's something.
When Hemmer suggests that in order to break free from the Nebula's control they might have to hurt M'Benga, Erica steps forward and threatens his life if he hurts the king. Una suggests that she could shoot him with an arrow and Erica hits her arm. Una says she doesn't understand what's going on and thought the point was too hurt him. Erica asks what's wrong with her, Erica is charged with protecting the King, and Una can just never understand that. Una says that she swore her allegiance to know one but the forest and Erica knows that. Erica sometimes wonders if they have anything in common, and Hemmer suggests that it's their differences that draw them together. M'Benga realizes that the story is all wrong, given that Adya and Z'ymira don't know each other in the tale. Una doesn't mean to contradict the king, but she and Erica know each other quite well. Erica agreeing and implying they've been romantically involved.

Erica and Una has a small following the Strange New Worlds fandom, but wouldn't be considered rair. It didn't start out with that following due to Una and Erica not sharing much screen time, and only interacting a handful of time for most of the season. This changed with "The Elysian Kingdom", and the ship started to gain a following. This is due to Erica and Una being transformed into characters from a storybook, and those characters lightly being implied to be romantically involved. This was instantly grasped onto by femslash Trek fans, although not all. Some felt it was part of the "predatory lesbian" trope due to Una and Erica's rank difference. Although more fans pointed out that it was never officially stated that they were a couple, it was just lightly implied. The implied romance was also between characters that Una and Erica were playing, ergo not actually them. With the added fact that rank was going to a problem in almost any Star Trek ship between two Starfleet members, regardless of gender. There are currently 10+ works on AO3.
