Breath of the Wild[]

Urbosa was generally well known for her having control over lightning and has been shown to use it on multiple occasions with a snap of a finger. This power is something that made her the most beloved as well as the most feared Chief as well as Champion in Hyrule's history. This is first shown chronologically when in the Champion Urbosa's Song, Urbosa was in a battle with two Yiga Clan Footsoldiers who were trying to ambush them, but it ended up failing due to her seeing through their disguises. When one of them tries to get a jump on her from behind, Urbosa snaps her fingers to shock him without turning around and spares their lives out of Princess Zelda's respect. She does this again in Urbosa's Hand after she confides to Link about Zelda's troubled past and current situation that caused tension between him and her, Urbosa was about to take her in quietly, but she decides to take a different option and used Urbosa's Fury which the sound of lightning scares the sleeping princess awake and left in confusion over what just happened, much to her amusement.

After her death, Urbosa still has this power, but due to her being a spirit, it would not work for her anymore. After Link helps her liberate Divine Beast Vah Naboris, she passes her ability down to Link in gratitude for his help so he can make use of it. When Link charges up for a Spin Attack or any charged attack depending on the weapon he uses, the button can be released at any point and Urbosa's spirit will appear and snap her fingers to shock any foe caught in the radius, with weaker enemies being killed instantly and those who endured it to be stunned much longer, while it has no effect on creatures. It can be used up to three times before requiring a recharge lasting twelve minutes while in Hyrule Castle, it is reduced to four minutes, but in The Champions' Ballad, Urbosa will upgrade her power to Urbosa's Fury + which reduces it to four minutes in real time and one minute and twenty seconds in Hyrule Castle once the EX Champion Urbosa's Song sidequest is completed.

In the sequel, Riju is also capable of utilizing electricity, though she still needs some levels of improvement as she relies on Link shooting arrows to get an accurate shot.

Age of Calamity[]

As Urbosa is a playable warrior, Urbosa is shown to not only call on lightning by snapping her fingers, but she can also charge electricity and wields her sword to hurl electricity at her foes and strike down anything in her path. Urbosa will use her power during the enemy's critical weak point moments when activated and she will also charge up electricity and shock numerous foes with her power. In The Champion Urbosa cutscene, she uses Urbosa’s Fury to expose Master Kohga as her impersonator when he manipulated the Gerudo tribe against Princess Zelda and her friends when they were about to recruit her. In the Guardian of Remembrance cutscene, when Master Kohga steals the Thunder Helm from Riju and believes that he is fully protected against her lightning, Urbosa proves him wrong and shocks him anyway as she knew that he does not really know how to properly use it and it resulted in him dropping it and Riju getting it back.

Riju also demonstrates her power over electricity which may have foreshadowed her expanded role in Tears of the Kingdom.

Fanon[]

Urbosa's Fury has commonly appeared in numerous fan fics and even in several fan art in many sites that are dedicated to writing fiction and drawing art. Fans find this ability useful for crowd control and making battles much easier in defeating large numbers of foes if the battle does not restrict the use of the Champion's abilities. Urbosa would often use it when it is absolutely necessary to preserve the lives of the people she cares for the most when they are in serious danger. She is not above putting enemies in their places when they deserve it, in this way.
