Breath of the Wild[]

Several years prior to her being chosen as a Gerudo Champion, Sheikah scientists have excavated Divine Beast Vah Naboris in wake of the forewarning of Calamity Ganon's eventual return to destroy the kingdom.

Many years later, emissaries paid Urbosa a visit and they ask her if she would go through with becoming Vah Naboris's pilot which Urbosa intends to agree to, due to how personal it was for her with Calamity Ganon once being affiliated with the Gerudo, which she despised. Once Princess Zelda visited to receive her answer, Urbosa agreed without once hesitating as the Yiga Clan want to resurrect Calamity Ganon and to steal her precious Thunder Helm and refuses to rest until Ganon falls. To prove her worth of taming Vah Naboris, Urbosa had to go through a series of trials which included her defeating a giant Molduking, surf through the desert to pass through the Glowing Rings and to throw an orb underground. According to Zelda's Research Notes, Urbosa managed to master Vah Naboris just fine, alongside Revali. Due to the tense relationship between Link and Zelda with the latter escaping from his sight, Urbosa promises to tell him if she is ever found and as she and Zelda did their research on Vah Naboris the whole day, Zelda was fatigued by sundown and ends up falling asleep from a whole day work. Urbosa then calls for Link and Urbosa's Hand takes place at Vah Naboris begins to tell of Zelda's problems she had to deal with throughout her life, from the pressure she was under in accessing her power to how Link's presence reminds her of her own failure since he is accomplished not only in swordplay, but also in gaining the Master Sword while she did not. She uses her signature power to wake up Zelda when the night brought the desert temperature down.

When Calamity Ganon returned, Urbosa and the Champions head to their Divine Beasts so they can strike back. But Vah Naboris ended up being the very place where she lost her life when Thunderblight Ganon took control of her Divine Beast and killed her. Urbosa constantly haunted the interiors of Vah Naboris for a whole century until Link arrived to help her take it back from Ganon. She instructs him to head to the Guidance Stone to get a map of the interior of the Divine Beast, and then instructs him to activate the terminals to turn on the Main Control Unit as Urbosa continued to encourage him each time he did. Before Link could activate the Main Control Unit, he was forced to fight Thunderblight Ganon whom he engages in battle and destroys, and Link was able to activate the Main Control Unit without any more interruptions. Urbosa appears to Link and thanks him for his help in setting Vah Naboris free and tells him to let Zelda know that she does not need to blame herself for what happened to the Champions, and she is proud of them. Once Link leaves, Urbosa takes control and relocates Vah Naboris to Spectacle Rock to take aim at Ganon in Hyrule Castle where Urbosa recalls the tales of Nabooru's heroic exploits in defeating Ganon, who once took form of a Gerudo and she is pleased to take it personally and looks forward to seeing Ganon fall before her eyes. Once Ganon breaks out, Urbosa and the Champions open fire at Ganon to weaken it.

Age of Calamity[]

Urbosa was chosen by Zelda to pilot Vah Naboris, though Master Kohga disguised himself as her and manipulated the Gerudo into turning against her and her friends up until the real Urbosa reveals the imposter and herself being the real deal. After driving back, the Yiga Clan, Urbosa speaks with Link, Impa, and Zelda about the Yiga Clan being Sheikah traitors who swore allegiance to Ganon and agrees to be Vah Naboris's pilot. Eventually, once Urbosa learns of the Yiga Clan Hideout, she acknowledges that she is going into battle without the privilege of training to control Vah Naboris, but decides that experience is the best teacher and she managed quite well with Naboris.

Later on, after Calamity Ganon returns, Urbosa was attacked by Thunderblight Ganon and was almost electrocuted before Terrako's Gate of Time brings Riju and Patricia to her time and they ram into the beast before it struck Urbosa and they managed to hold it off until Link arrived and destroyed it. Urbosa uses Vah Naboris's power to create an updraft on Mt. Rhoam so they can help save Revali and Teba as well. Urbosa takes Vah Naboris again and with Riju at her side, with her words of encouragement to the dismayed young girl, work together to take out thousands of monsters and Guardians surrounding Fort Hateno. After that, Vah Naboris runs out of power leaving them vulnerable to reinforcements, though the rest of the Champions came to their rescue with their Divine Beasts. Lastly, Urbosa and Vah Naboris are united with the army and with the military bringing down the enemy barrier around Hyrule Castle, Urbosa and the Champions open fire against it to wear it down.

Fanon[]

Vah Nabosa is an extremely rareship in terms of fanfics though fan art of Urbosa and Vah Naboris have been very common among the fanbase. As Urbosa is the most prominent pilot of Divine Beast Vah Naboris, fans found it hard to have her pilot any other Divine Beast let alone ship her with them as they both make use of electricity as their primary weapon. Urbosa was patient in having to wait for Link to help free Vah Naboris from Thunderblight Ganon's control and allow her to pick up where she left off. Urbosa notes that Vah Naboris is named after Nabooru, the Gerudo who opposed Ganon and is responsible for the Gerudo turning over a new leaf, from being a reclusive gang of thieves to decent citizens who have no trouble with engaging in foreign trade with other races and being on good terms with the Hyrulean Royal Family.
