ValAngel is the slash ship between Valentino and Angel Dust from the Hazbin Hotel fandom.
Canon[]
Animated Show[]
The relationship between Valentino and Angel Dust is seen to be abusive and unhealthy from the start of the show. Valentino is Angel Dust's pimp and boss for his pornographic videos at Porn Studios. Despite the abusive that Angel Dust faces from Valentino, he is unable to leave due to a contract that the two share which bounds Angel Dust to work for Valentino. It is implied by Angel Dust that the only possible (currently unconfirmed) way to break the contract is by having Valentino break it himself, which will result in his freedom from his boss.
Contract Scene (Episode 4)
It has been displayed in many scenes that Angel Dust feels intimidated and uncomfortable around Valentino, even scared when in Episode 4, he received the call from Valentino which caused him to feel scared.
The relationship goes beyond a simple business relationship, as it was seen that Valentino has a personal interest in Angel Dust, going as far as forcing himself on Angel Dust, as well as engaging in sexual intercourses with his employee. Valentino is shown to be obsessive and controlling over Angel Dust, going as far as to send multiple voice notes to Angel Dust going from kind to verbally abusive when trying to bring him back to the studio to continue to do his job.
Angel Dust is seen to not be able to have a say in any way, as whenever he does, it is received with both verbal and physical abuse from his boss, Valentino. This also happens when Valentino's plans are ruined because of Angel Dust, which is shown later in episode 4 where when Charlie Morningstar caused a fire when trying to support Angel Dust, it resulted in Valentino forcefully taking him into the room and abuse/harm him to punish him for unintentionally involving Charlie into his business. This is also where it displays the contract and how Angel Dust is forced to follow through regardless, which is where he is told to kick Charlie out of the studio to prevent further punishment.
In Episode 6, they happen to go to the same club. When Niffty, who is intoxicated, runs off to Valentino, Angel begins to chase after her however he accidentally attracts Valentino's attention. He insults him sexually but becomes interested in Niffty and asks Angel if he'd brought any fresh meat to him as she snaps at him telling him that she wanted a taste. Valentino says it is a weird but there might be a kink for that. Angel becomes completely disgusted with his boss making moves on her and tells him to 'fuck off', shocking Valentino. Angel tells him and everyone at the club that he may have to put up with his crap but he isn't going to screw any of his friends. Valentino became completely angered and reminds Angel that he owns him.
Angel tells him that he does at the studio and that he can do anything he wants to him there but he tells him that when Angel is not in the studio that he can't do anything to him. Valentino slaps him for disrespecting him and embarrassing him at the club, and threatens him as he says he'll make Angel pay for it the next day. Angel gets up and simply says it was worth it, making Husk congratulate him. As they walk off, Niffty suddenly appears and grabs some of Valentino's neck fur for his 'collection', leaving him startled.
Music Videos[]
Out of the three songs that Angel Dust sings in, the two songs "ADDICT" (From before the series) and "Poison" (Sang in Episode 4) displayed their relationship.
ADDICT[]
In the music video "ADDICT", Angel Dust is performing a show with Valentino watching, before Valentino decides to use his Typhokinesis[1] to physically manipulate Angel Dust. During the sequence, it flashes a scene of Angel Dust on his bed alongside Cherri Bomb, depicting the stress and trauma Angel Dust is struggling to deal with by Valentino.
The next scene involving the two is of them being in Valentino's car going somewhere, with Angel Dust sitting next to him. It was in this scenhere Valentino brings Angel Dust to sit on his lap and then force himself on the employee. The music video ends with a scene of Angel Dust returning to the Happy Hotel, staring at himself in the mirror in his room before a flash of a scene of Valentino engaging in sexual intercourse with Angel Dust in front of one which led to Angel Dust feeling discomfort and lie in his bed.
Poison[]
The first scene of this music video with the two starts off with a similar setting as "ADDICT" where Angel Dust is performing but then the sequence led to it actually being apart of a recording of a pornographic scene of Angel Dust engaging with another actor while Valentino is behind the cameras, smiling and pleased with the performance with Angel Dust seemingly tired before continuing to engage with the other actor. The next scene is shown with Angel Dust having pink smoke-like chains and cuffs on him to show that he is under Valentino's control as it is Valentino's abilities "Smoke Construct"[1] as Angel Dust continues to dance around and on Valentino, singing about how despite knowing that what he is being given is "poison", he can't help but feel "addicted" to it.
Following the prior scene is flashing scenes of Valentino and Angel Dust engaging in sexual intercourse, however, the nature of the engagement is not explicitly tell whether it is consensual, dubious, or non-consensual.
The music video also proves that to present Angel Dust from being uncooperative including during recording pornographic shoots, Valentino uses his ability to get Angel Dust to stay in line and not resist when the other actors are engaging with him and violating him.
At one point in the video, it is seen that while Angel Dust is singing, Valentino comes into the image which causes Angel Dust to feel fearful as Valentino forcefully pulls Angel Dust in with a sinister smile on his face, what happened after the two left the frame is unknown, but the shot ends showing Angel Dust feeling distraught and stressed by it.
The end of the video shows Angel watching Valentino from the balcony in his room (and locking his door beforehand) before sinking down to his knees when Valentino leaves after noticing him.

Fanon[]
The pairing is not among the top ten ships in Archive of Our Own due to its nature, though due to the amount of fanfictions currently available, it is possibly between the 11th and 20th rankings of ships in Hazbin Hotel, as Angel Dust is mostly shipped with Husk while Valentino is shipped with Vox due to the new season.
Most of the created content including fan art and fanfiction continue to depict the abuse between the two. However, there remains a small portion of it where the type of relationship is not the same as the canon relationship, where the two have a healthy and fluff relationship.
There are multiple fans that despite the unhealthy relationship, they continue to ship the two due to their interest in the type of dynamic.
