Vaninique is the het ship between Vanitas and Dominique de Sade from The Case Study of Vanitas fandom.

Canon

Domi and Vanitas are former enemies and have conflicting ideologies. They often get along because of Noé, but they both like Jeanne.

Bal Masqué Arc

Domi comes to Noé and introduces herself as Noe's fiancée. Vanitas looks surprised, before the young vampire reveals that she is just a childhood friend. Vanitas then watches Domi put a collar on Noe and take her outside. She shows a very distrustful attitude towards Vanitas towards her best friend.

When Domi and Noé crossed the dimensional gate to Altus, Vanitas secretly followed them and captured Noe because he knew that if he captured the vampire, he could go to the Altus dimension.

Vanitas gets on Domi's nerves, but the vampire girl refuses to let the fight get out of hand. She takes Vanitas to the carriage and tells her about Noe being a slave who was taken in by her grandfather.

Hunters of the Dark Arc

They go to Ruthven and are nowhere to be seen. Vanitas is sitting in the café with Domi and the others. She expresses shock and chokes on her tea at seeing Vanitas teasing Jeanne and flashing her possession mark. She watches them go outside to sort things out. During the evening, she decides to prank Vanitas by stealing Jeanne's place at the dance, preventing Vanitas from being with Jeanne as she had intended.

Jeanne comes to Domi for advice on how to get Vanitas out of her life, but Domi doesn't know how because she's always surrounded by women and men, and Veronica has chased them all away. She thinks of a way to get Vanitas to distance himself from Jeanne and suggests that he doesn't care about people who fall in love. Domi provokes Jeanne into going along with the plan.

Domi eventually regrets and feels responsible for what she has done, so she secretly follows Vanitas and curses him if he treats her Jeanne wrong. Domi expresses surprise at Vanitas being with Jeanne, and her best friend is immune to intimacy from others (coming from a violent background). Domi watches their date, until an emergency occurs when Jeanne is revealed to be a vampire, and she and Dante help Vanitas and the others escape.

Before they part ways, Dante tells Domi why she doesn't let the two of them be a couple and take care of each other so she doesn't have to worry. She feels embarrassed and loses her balance by bumping into a boy with blue eyes like Vanitas.

Amusement Park Arc

When Domi found out that Jeanne fell in love with Vanitas, she expressed her disapproval and did not understand that Jeanne fell in love with such a cruel person, thinking that her liking was only on a scale of 0 to 100. However, after hearing her best friend's reasoning, she burst into tears thinking about the cruelty Jeanne had received. Afterwards, she was shocked by the idea of ​​Jeanne having sex with Vanitas for the first time, before she tried to change her mind. Although Domi felt a headache, she admired them and began to envy Vanitas' relationship with Jeanne, unintentionally starting to have feelings of hatred towards Jeanne.

She is taken hostage at an amusement park, where Vanitas expresses desire to kill Domi and severely insults her. Meanwhile, she watches Noé fight him from above. She decides to jump down, but is saved by Jeanne, who then reverses the situation and saves Vanitas. In the final battle, she sees Mikhail transform, and takes care of Vanitas with a shocked Jeanne. After the incident has calmed down, they decide to return to the hotel.

Miel Incident Arc

The story begins anew, Domi comes to Noe and they hug. Vanitas watches their relationship with envy, while as the three of them sit together having dessert, Noe professes her love for Domi, causing Vanitas to choke on his tea and say that he didn't know they had such a relationship. He then watches Noe talk to Domi before falling asleep with his head on her shoulder. Vanitas and Domi help Noé to sleep in bed.

After that, they complained to Noe and shared their perspectives, both his pros and cons. Hearing that they had different perspectives but wanted to be with Noe, they decided to hold hands and complimented the other party that it was not bad.

Vanitas and Domi change their clothes because their old ones are all ruined. With Amelia's help, they get new clothes. Vanitas wants to talk, so Domi decides to invite her to the table and takes her outside.

Cut to a timeline where Domi comes to see Parks Orlok and decides to talk about race. Meanwhile, she avoids Noé for some unknown reason, and Vanitas watches her with concern, showing great chemistry while complaining that she is too indulgent of Noé. Domi readily admits her mistake.

Amid the racial conflict, Noé reminds Domi of her discrimination against Dante. She realizes her mistake and leaves the room. Vanitas stops Noé from following her.

Bonus Manga Story (Blu-ray)

OMAKE DVD Vol.4 : –It makes me smile.–

It's Domi's perspective as she secretly watches Vanitas and Jeanne's date. She admires her cute side while ignoring Vanitas.

OMAKE DVD Vol.6 : ~Dance~~

Vanitas asks Noe why he dances in a feminine position, then learns that Domi taught Noe how to do it. He then listens to his best friend tell him about it.

To celebrate the anime's premiere and anniversary, Vanitas drank a lot of Alcohol beverages and got drunk. Domi saw Jeanne taking Vanitas and carrying him home to take care of him, so she tried to stop her.

Dram CD & OMAKE Vol.7 : Koi wa☆LOVE Mission! In this AU, Vanitas and Domi are not told what their relationship is, but Domi takes care of Noé and it is not mentioned.

Special Anime Event

Vanitas traveled through time with Noé to Japan. The way they returned to their original world was to play a game with Professor Noe while he was divided into teams. At first, he was on the same team as Domi, but had to change teams because there were too many people on the team.

Fanon

Vaninique is a much loved ship, although not as much as VaniJeanne. They sometimes ship with Vanoé or VaniJeanne, due to their dynamic being very sm and cowardly. They are too similar, but very different in their ideologies, especially race. Domi and Vanitas are always at odds with each other, especially when it comes to discrimination against Noé. In the series, Domi has expressed her dislike for Vanitas getting close to Jeanne, but Domi and Vanitas share similar interests and passions, such as their love for Jeanne. That has led some to join fandoms around the world, cheering for them to be close friends.

After they put on their new outfits, people teased them a lot that they went on dates, or that Vanitas got to date both Domi and Jeanne, which was really cool.

Most of their work tends to be fan art, but A3o tends to be more of a close friend rather than a romantic one.
