This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it.
Though there are hints of both characters in the first two games of the Hello Charlotte series, the third game takes up the bulk of the ship's content.
In Hello Charlotte Episode 3: Childhood's end, the player is introduced to Vincent when a conversation over a chatroom between Vincent and Charles is shown.
Heaven's Gate[]
[#1] Vincent Fennell[]
Heaven's Gate starts off with the duo both in kindergarten. Charles witnesses Vincent staring at ants, and goes up to talk to him about them. Charles brings up how the ants are winged, and Vincent notes how small they are, which Charles is glad about because he finds bugs disgusting. Facing Charles, Vincent asks Charles "We must be like gods to them, don't you think?" Vincent then goes on to pick one of the ants up, and rips one of its wings off, which upsets Charles. The two argue about whether it was wrong of Vincent to do this or not, with Vincent being less empathetic, saying they are just bugs, and that his mother does not like them. Charles is the opposite, saying not to hurt them just because they are bigger, and that (according to his own mother) even though they are small, their lives matter as well. Vincent leaves after Charles threatens to tell the nurses about him. Charles wonders what could be wrong with Vincent, deciding from that very day that he does not like Vincent.
[#2] Tazos[]
Charles observes kids surrounding Vincent in awe, due to him having his tazos collection out. While kids are attempting to trade tazos with him, Charles wonders to himself what could be so special about Vincent, as all he really has is a tazos collection. While he is lost thinking about Vincent, he drops a box with the classroom turtle inside and gets in trouble for it, which he decides to blame on Vincent.
[#4] Concert[]
Charles and Vincent are part of a school Autumn concert. Charles quietly, yet perfectly says the four lines he was assigned. Charles focuses on Vincent, who got six lines, which Charles thinks is because the nurses think that Vincent is the smartest out of the group. Charles notes that the way Vincent delivers his lines is "monotonous" and like he "doesn't give a care."
The scene shifts to Charles talking about Vincent, and how he is (almost always) the last person to be picked up by his parents, with Vincent sometimes not being picked up at all, having to walk home all by himself. Charles tells his mother about this, which his mom shows concern for, wondering what Vincent's parents must be thinking letting that happen to him. Charles has no response.
[#5] Valentine's Day[]
Charles throws up on his shirt, and is sent to the nurse's office. Vincent is also there, as he had tripped and ended up scraping his knee. Charles notices the lack of reaction Vincent has to his scrape, despite how bad it is. Wondering if Vincent feels pain or not, he thinks to ask Vincent if he could be a robot, though doesn't because of how bad his headache is.
[#6] New stage[]
Charles thinks about the first day of school, and talks about how Vincent is going to a different one. He remarks that this does not matter to him, as he "didn't like him much anyway."
[#8] Reunion[]
Vincent and Charles reunite, going to the same middle school now. He remarks that Vincent "looks more frail" than he remembers, but shrugs it off, thinking it is just because he himself has gotten taller. Vincent smiles when he sees Charles, though Charles remarks that Vincent has been smiling at everyone. Charles is unsettled by this, as in kindergarten, Vincent would always have a blank expression, but he is now putting up a mask. Charles does not smile back at Vincent.
Charles is put into a group with Vincent for a school project. It is mostly just him and Vincent working, as the other two students in their group do not actually want to put in effort for it. Charles thinks to himself that Vincent is "surprisingly nice to work with," and likes that he puts a lot of effort into what he does and works with others, compared to most of the other kids at their school. He notes to himself that this is the first time that he has had fun working with a group in a while.
Charles sends over the files for their presentation to Vincent, which Vincent replies to, saying "Good work!" Seeing the message, Charles is thrilled that Vincent is thankful for the effort he has put in, noting this to be the first time in his five years of schooling that this has happened. Touched by this, Charles' puts Vincent's name first on the title slide of their project.
The two present their project, which Vincent being chosen to be the representative of the group. While Vincent's voice is noted to be "clear" and "powerful" in Charles' mind, Charles finds himself to get anxious, causing him to stumble while speaking, which his classmates make fun of him for (which makes Charles hate himself for messing up.) Their group ends up getting the highest score, and Charles thinks to himself that "teamwork isn't half bad."
[#9] Weakling[]
During a P.E lesson, Vincent collapses. Charles remarks that Vincent has the worst stamina among their class, which he had not noticed prior. Charles compares himself to Vincent again, saying that despite not being very fast at running, he can endure long distances, while Vincent can barely handle a few laps before getting exhausted. Charles learns that Vincent has health complications after overhearing the teachers talk.
Some of their classmates are talking about Vincent not running, and are theorizing on what his health complications may be. They bring up how he is the best student in their class, but may be pushing himself too hard. One student chimes in, saying that "people like that don't live long." The student says that their uncle, who was in a similar situation, died from a stoke. This causes Charles to wonder about Vincent dying, which he had never thought could be possible beforehand. He boils it down to kids not really having much thought about life and death.
Charles turns to look at Vincent, who is sitting out on the bench. He notes that despite not really talking, he has been watching Vincent for a good while, so he feels like the two of them share a connection.

Fanon[]
Vincharles is the most popular ship in the Hello Charlotte fandom, rivaled only by Chanri, the ship between Charles and Henrietta "Anri" Warhol. Fans were drawn to the deep admiration Charles holds for Vincent, and how much of an impact Vincent has had on Charles' life. Some people prefer to see the duo platonically, either because they ship a rival pairing, think it is unhealthy, or because they think that shipping is not the point of their relationship. Some people also don't ship the duo as Charles is asexual, which could also imply that he is aromantic, making it so that he has no interest in romantic relationships. The ship has ~90+ works on AO3.
