...Nah. Uzi? I trust you.
—V's last words as she salutes to Uzi when the Sentinels are closing in.

Vuzi is the femslash ship between Serial Designation V and Uzi Doorman from the Murder Drones fandom.

Canon[]

The two females began as archnemesis from the very start of the story. It's a given since V's kin is responsible for the death of Uzi's mother. But even as they meet directly their antagonism continues. As the series progresses, their relationship grows from bitter to bittersweet after being exposed to treacherous and traumatizing events that snap them together as a team. Although appearing very different, they possess some shared traits that can easily be overlooked.

For example, both seem to lack empathy and resort to violence when provoked, such as V threatening N over a mere comment from the latter, and Uzi threatening Thad with her railgun when he goes against her idea of destroying disassembly drones due to the danger that comes with it. However they hold immense care and respect towards comrades and loved ones. Their ability to read the room and get along with others is minimal, and it's a major part of their personalities that makes them prone to clashing with each other.

Pilot[]

Uzi Doorman plans to eradicate all Disassembly Drones, Serial Designation V included, for the return of the Worker’s safety. After the complicated events of attempting to gather ammo for her railgun, she eventually chats with Serial Designation N about his team and his crashed pod. She hastily retreats outside and sprints towards the Worker colony upon hearing Serial Designation V and J’s arrival. As she is escaping, V stares at her from inside the Corpse House, informing her team that there is a Worker she “kinda wants to practice balloon animal shapes with”.

With the goal to free the Worker’s from V and J, Uzi convinces N to fight alongside her, even if it means rebelling against his coworkers. She gives him the offer to choose his target, in which he picks J. His choice was quickly proven in vain as she turned him down, forcing him to fight V instead.

Heartbeat[]

Uzi scolding V for the latter's offensive commentary

During Uzi’s self-exile, she observes herself in a mirror in the crashed pod after she discovers a strange change in her, ultimately smashing the mirror unintentionally due to her awakened Absolute Solver. Unfortunately, V (who is tied with chains in a chair) witnesses this, and explains that she has never seen that symbol before. With sadism in mind, she asks if Uzi is willing to perform an autopsy to decipher its origin, in which Uzi responds negatively. While the Worker displays her vengeful aggression towards humans, this triggers V, causing her to lunge at Uzi’s face with nothing holding her back but the chains.

She tells Uzi that the humans created Disassembly Drones to fix a problem (referring to the Workers), and she doesn’t have the right to talk poorly about them as if JcJenson was in the wrong.

Uzi protecting V

After the events of the last episode negatively affecting Uzi and N’s relationship, he performs a self exile on V and himself. V unfortunately chose the wrong time to inform him that she planned to attend the Worker’s prom, attempting to persuade him into forgetting about Uzi and giving in to his original nature as a Disassembly Drone. When he kept refusing her offer even when she promised to murder things for their survival if not for their pleasure, she beheads him to keep him stunned long enough to allow her to escape and prepare herself. During this time, Uzi is caught by surprise by Khan’s plan to invite Lizzy and Doll to prepare his daughter for the prom as well, much to Uzi’s dismay. As she is dressing in the restroom, she overhears Lizzy’s conversation to Doll, which included her invitation to the prom to V.

Hearing this, Uzi immediately knew that the Murder Drone wasn’t attending for a simple dance. She escapes Doll’s bathroom through a ventilation shaft and exits the colony with the intention of escaping Doll and preventing V from entering. This could not be performed, however, for V has already managed to get herself inside.

Luckily, she managed to have N on her side again and they both arrived at the prom. But instead of expecting the Workers to be in danger, they find V instead being the one in a deadly situation. Surprised, N tells Uzi that they should save her, much to Uzi’s disappointment as she reluctantly bodyguards the pinned Disassembly Drone, protecting V alongside N. After Uzi gives her speech about not doing things alone, it briefly cuts to V, who wore an empathetic expression as she listened to Uzi, hinting at a future redemption for the disassembler.

During the battle between Doll, Uzi and N, V puts a cease to it as she sneakily eliminates Doll with a gunshot to the head, earning a negative reaction from Uzi, for she explained that Doll was a key to the information behind the AbsoluteSolver.

Cabin Fever[]

V and Uzi "conversing" in the abandoned building

Recognizing the AbsoluteSolver as Cyn, V treats Uzi harshly, threatening her to keep a safe distance from N and her if she does something that V doesn’t like. While managing the campers as a counselor, she keeps a close eye on Uzi’s behavior, eventually catching her deforming an arrow into an organic mass. Though Uzi appears to be genuinely afraid of her actions and this newfound ability, V leaves no room for mercy, unhesitatingly resorting to violence with the intent of eliminating the teenage Worker. Before she could quickly finish her task, she is encountered by N who refuses to allow the unforgivable action.

Possessed Uzi engaging in battle with V

During Solver Uzi’s reign, she eradicates other campers before catching up with Lizzy. Before she could encounter the latter, V makes herself an obstacle and stuns her by performing a crucial strike, causing Uzi to get launched into a safer distance. Unfortunately, Uzi’s solver gives her the upper hand, making the latter an easy prey. Uzi is swiftly and safely stopped by N during her nearly successful attack on V. When returning to the ground after N’s comforting conversation with Uzi, V observes the two with a warm smile. Even after their quarrel that nearly ended her life, V defends Uzi when the teacher asks about the missing students; V takes the blame for the purple drone's massacre when realizing Uzi was asleep. Once the teacher doesn't give her the reaction she wants, V crosses her arms as a disappointed expression finds its way on her face.

Home[]

Although rarely interacting with each other due to V’s mindset not currently belonging to herself, Uzi assists N in defeating the AbsoluteSolver’s control on her inside his memory of the gala. When N thanks Uzi for her helpful actions, V quickly snaps at her for roaming inside her memories and demands her to exit. Upon awakening, instead of thanking her for releasing her from Cyn’s grasp, V resorts to threatening Uzi by whipping out a chainsaw from her arm, in which Uzi reacts apprehensively.

Dead End[]

V and Uzi restrained in Alice's lab

V and Uzi are cuffed in the same room with Alice, who abuses Uzi due to her being the offspring of her former enemy, Nori Doorman. When Uzi's finger gets cut off by Alice, V winces in the other room at the sound of Uzi in pain, before she cautiously turns her head in the direction of Uzi, despite being separated by a curtain. Once Cyn makes herself present inside of Uzi, V's attention turns to where Uzi would be held, realising that she got posessed again. After Cyn destroys the panel keeping the door between them and the Sentinels, Uzi returns to her unconscious state, leaving her defenseless.

With the Sentinels now arriving at their location, they swiftly crush Alice and attempt to eliminate Uzi and V. Luckily, from the various, disturbing writings on the wall informing V of what to do in this situation, she defends herself and Uzi from the assailants without making direct eye contact, freeing Uzi and saving her. Accepting defeat, the Sentinels abandon them, opening the opportunity for the drones to escape. As V watches, she looks over at Uzi with a saddened expression, before meeting back up with "Tessa" and N, while carrying an unconscious Uzi on her back. V then threatens Tessa for lying about the sentinels which nearly got her and Uzi killed, glancing over at the worker as she scolds who she thinks is a human. V looks over at Uzi again as she groggily wakes up and abandons her piggyback after seeing N.

V carrying Uzi on her back after successfully rescuing her

After being deceived by Doll and left in a room with Sentinels, V swiftly protects her team as they head back into an elevator. N tells V to come along, but instead of joining them, she denies his offer despite him desperately trying to persuade her into doing so. V’s attention shifts to Uzi who grimly stares back in a weakened state. The latter informs her that her trust resides within the Worker. With these words, V snaps off the cords holding the elevator in place, forcing it to drop down, leaving her with the Sentinels.

Absolute End[]

During her battle with J, V says Uzi's famous one-liner ("Oh, how about you BITE ME!") before ripping J's right arm off. Later on, as V is nearly dismembered by Cyn, Uzi slashes off the eldritch's appendages. She scolds her and claims that nobody else "traumatizes these weirdly hot robots but me." She then turns to V, claiming that she is glad that the latter had survived the Sentinel ambush. They exchange soft smiles before engaging in battle with J and Cyn.

Uzi rescues V

Before Uzi could be murdered by J once she was distracted, V, alongside N, block the attack and rescue her. N suggests that him and Uzi should create their own secret handshake as V eyes them in discomfort. They fall back into the brawl, and Uzi is caught in the massive hand-like appendage of Cyn. Thankfully, V kicks her away, giving Uzi a smug look that earned an eye roll from the latter. V moments after finds herself being pinned to the wall, in which Uzi rescues her by delivering an uppercut to Cyn's face and kicking her body away.

Uzi and N engage their secret handshake and Uzi bumps fists with V, which causes V to recoil at the action. After Uzi consumes Cyn's core, N and V approach her; N is elated to see Uzi in fine condition, but V slaps him away and threatens Uzi with a gun once witnessing her partly yellow eyes. Uzi pushes V's hand away, only for V to shove it back. Thankfully, Uzi confirmed that she is sentient without the presence of Cyn, and V appears annoyed as she crosses her arms and looks away as Uzi and N embrace each other, occasionally glancing back at them. Without her awareness, N suddenly tosses Uzi atop of V and the latter begins punching at her head playfully much to V's great annoyance.

At the near end of the episode, V is present during Uzi's presentation in class, and as everyone applauds her, V and Lizzy boo at her as she threw the dead worker drone head that she was holding in her claws away.

Fanon[]

Not long after the popularity increase in ThUzi and Nuzi, Vuzi’s first fanart received negative attention from most, possibly due to the two never interacting in the Pilot and there wasn’t enough information about V’s character to compare with Uzi's. Along with this, most argued that the ship is as "toxic" as Juzi, the femslash pairing for Serial Designation J and Uzi. However, with the progression throughout the series expanding their relationship and allowing the audience to view more of V’s character, the Vuzi ship slowly gathered more fans. V's position as a former antagonist progressing into a heroine status helped the ship's popularity as well. Although the interactions between the females were downright negative, it fed the fans of the Enemies to Lovers trope. This did not apply to everyone, for it gave another reason for haters of the pairing to speak negatively about it.

To bite back at downvoters, in the sixth episode of the series, “Dead End”, in the scene in which V carries Uzi on her back, Vuzi fans used this as a reason to uphold their favorite pairing. The unusual overprotective nature towards Uzi delivered from V is also acknowledged. Many fans note how unexpected and abrupt V's behavior was, considering how the two had their lives in danger many times and have never shown this attitude.

Before the events of “Heartbeat” and further episodes, shippers created a love triangle between Serial Designation N, V, and Uzi Doorman, in which N’s unrequited affection towards V is turned down by her affection for Uzi, in which her unrequited love is turned down by Uzi’s affection for N and so on. Or, in other cases, both N and V share the same affection for Uzi and battle for her love. This resulted in the Pair the Suitors trope, in which V and Uzi originally "battled" for N's romantic partnership but took each other instead.

Fans come to realize that V and Uzi share very similar traits, almost appearing as the same character with separate bodies. The most identical characteristic between them is their tsundere based personalities, in which they hide a soft demeanor behind a cruel, violent mask. However, their masks can be different depending on their overall character, such as Uzi’s angst and V’s sadism. Moreover, the duo is vicious, rebellious, and protective of their loved ones.

When Absolute End dropped, the episode officially declared their relationship as mere frenemies, dismissing the accusations of their connection as toxic. Notably, after Uzi admitted she found V hot, fans took off with headcanons of their own that Uzi may be bisexual. To pair with this, many depict V as a lesbian as well due to her seemingly low romantic interest in N.

Another major supporter in their ship lies in a fanmade episode Murder Drones: Intermission: The episode focuses solely on the Triumphant Trio as they teach Uzi how to grow accustomed to her new assets after the tragic events of Cabin Fever. Many fans point out the Vuzi moments within the episode, as it shines a heartwarming and supportive spotlight on their relationship. The fan video itself is what birthed many Vuzi and or Nuziv shippers today.

Overall, Vuzi is considerably a popular ship with a large number of shippers.

Trivia[]

  • In the original thumbnail for the Pilot, V and Uzi would be seen posing alongside each other, with V presenting herself in the same pose as N in the first official poster for the series.
  • Both are the few Workers to be possessed by Cyn directly, along with appearing in the eldritch form that closely resembles the average disassembly drone at least once.
  • The ship name VioletViolence is deprived from Uzi's color scheme and V's thirst for violence and murder. However, the violence can apply to both.
  • They are the first two characters to be displayed in the series thumbnails, with V appearing in the Pilot thumbnail and Uzi appearing in the second episode, "Heartbeat" thumbnail.
  • Many claimed the two despised each other, but in a merch release post on Twitter on the official Glitch account, they depicted them as friends alongside Serial Designation N.
  • When GLITCH leaked their upcoming Murder Drones merch on TikTok, V and Uzi are currently the only characters with acrylic stands.
    • During a concept sketch for the acrylics, it is shown that both the V and Uzi acrylics are connected and will eventually create a mural with a future N acrylic arriving to complete it.
  • Fans often associate the pairing with the song, "She Likes A Boy" by Nxdia in Vuzi edits due to the headcanon that V is secretly jealous of N for stealing Uzi's attention and Uzi failing to reciprocate V's romantic attraction due to their differing sexualities.
  • The two had sacrificed themselves to ensure their friends' safety despite N pleading for their survival.
    • Notably, after V had sacrificed herself in episode 6, Uzi does so herself in episode 7.
  • V is notably the only Disassembly Drone of the squad between J, N, and her that has not been blasted by Uzi's railgun.
    • Coincidentally, N in the Pilot stated that he refuses to allow Uzi to blast V.
  • Excluding Nori, Uzi and V are the only characters known to use the catchphrase, "Bite me!"
  • Uzi's VA, Elsie Lovelock, openly acknowledged the Vuzi ship on a livestream and jokingly claimed it's canon.[citation needed]
  • In the dictionary Merriam-Webster, the entries Uzi and V are alphabetically next to each other.
