Waklu is the het ship between Wakka and Lulu from the Final Fantasy fandom.

Wakka and Lulu have known each other since they were kids, growing up together alongside Wakka's younger brother, Chappu. At some point, Chappu and Lulu began a romantic relationship. Wanting to keep Lulu safe from the threat of Sin, Cappu joined the Crusaders. Wakka and Lulu disapproved of this idea as they were staunch followers of Yevon. Eventually, his role in the Crusaders caused Chappu's death. When Tidus arrives in Besaid, Wakka sees much of Chappu in him. Lulu chides him for this, worried that he is clinging too hard to the past.

Wakka and Lulu both function as guardians for Yuna, a Summoner. Prior to her, they worked with Father Zuke, guarding him to the Calm Lands where he decided to quit his pilgrimage. Together, they set out with Yuna and the other summoners, first to Luca and then to begin their journey to Zanarkand. In Luca, Lulu supports Wakka as he plays in the Blitzball tournament.

Lulu and Wakka are shown to be close, with Lulu often being the person to put Wakka in his place. She tends to be harsher with him than the other guardians, but her attitude comes from a place of deep caring.

Vidina

Vidina is Waka and Lulu's son who was born towards at the end of Final Fantasy X-2. The entire team of the Besaid Aurochs help raise him alongside his parents. Wakka had trouble coming up with a name for him until he saw a sphere of his deceased brother Chappu, which gave him the inspiration. The name Vidina is Al Bhed for 'future,' which signifies Wakka's character development, as he had previously hated the Al Bhed.

Fanon

Waklu is a popular ship in the fandom, as it is one of the canon ships of Final Fantasy X. It is often featured alongside Tiduna in fan works. Shippers enjoy the dynamic between the two characters, with Lulu being more of a stoic type while Wakka can be a fun-loving goofball. They enjoy the ways in which the two support each other, especially after Chappu's death. Some fans particularly enjoy the ideas of "second chances" and "second love" that this ship portrays.
