WaveWave is the slash ship between Shockwave and Soundwave from the Transformers fandom.

Shockwave and Soundwave are two of the most loyal mech's in the Decepticon army. Believing more in Megatron and the cause than any other Mechs. While not very close, they are still some of the most commonly seen Deceptacons throughout the franchise.

WaveWave is a more common ship in the Tranformers fandom. Especially among Prime fans. Some view it as a "pair the spares" style ship however. As typically in Prime fics the main Decepticon pairings are KOBD and MegaStar, making Soundwave and Shockwave the two main Decepticons without partners in most fics. Making it very easy to pair them up. The ship is mostly based on concept, as the two don't have very many scenes alone together in Prime. As both are very serious Mech's who are also very loyal to Megatron. This also makes them opposite's of Knockscream, who are less loyal and more prone to emotion than the other two.
Due to the serious nature of both mech's, many fans depict their relationship as one that starts out from a logic point rather than an emotional one. Or that there would be less drama with the two getting together than the other Decepticon pairings. They're also most often presented as the "only sane mech's" among the ranks, meaning that for many they would only be able to stand each other. Many fans joke that they two would have a long distance relationship, due to Shockwave constantly being left behind on Cybertron in most adaptations.
There is still a decent following outside of the Prime series. The IDW Soundwave believing that Shockwave is the "perfect cybertronian", was feul for many shippers. Cyberverse is also a favorite among WaveWave fans, although for different reasons than other versions. As the two have more of a rivalry, and thus it becomes a favorite for those who prefer rival/enemies to lovers style ships.
On AO3, WaveWave is the second most written ship for both Soundwave and Shockwave. It is also the ninth most written ship in the Transformers: Prime tag.
