Wildrey is the het ship between Audrey and Wilbur Robinson from the The Lorax and Meet the Robinsons fandoms.

Canon

Since the characters originate from entirely different fictional universes, they have never met in canon. Meet the Robinsons was produced by Disney, while The Lorax was made by Illumination Entertainment, making an official crossover between the two highly unlikely. Despite this, the pairing shares a notable amount of character similarities and complementary traits.

Both Wilbur and Audrey are teenagers who inhabit brightly stylized, futuristic worlds, although the tones of those settings differ drastically. The future of Meet the Robinsons is optimistic, eccentric, and imaginative, whereas The Lorax presents a dystopian, corporate-controlled society. Their stories also share a literary origin: Meet the Robinsons was loosely inspired by William Joyce’s book A Day with Wilbur Robinson, while The Lorax comes from Dr. Seuss’s classic environmental tale, though Audrey was created specifically for the 2012 film and does not appear in the original book.

Personality-wise, Wilbur and Audrey are both depicted as youthful, energetic, and upbeat. They each act as catalysts for their respective film’s protagonist: Wilbur guides Lewis through time and helps him realize that he can one day create his own family, while Audrey inspires Ted’s determination to bring trees back to Thneedville. They thus fulfill similar narrative functions in their stories.

Wilbur also shares notable physical traits with Audrey’s canon love interest, Ted Wiggins. Like Ted, he is younger than Audrey, has short dark hair, and brown eyes, which could be work as evidence Wilbur could fit Audrey’s romantic “type.”

At the same time, Wilbur and Audrey differ in significant ways that can make the pairing appealing as an “opposites attract” dynamic. Wilbur is deeply tied to technology, inventions, and futuristic gadgets, while Audrey is associated with nature, greenery, and the desire for environmental restoration.

Fanon

This pairing isn't very popular in fandom spaces, partly also due to the fact Meet The Robinsons isn't among the most popular Disney movies. However, it does have its small dedicated community.

The platform where the ship seems to have the most traction is Tumblr, where fans have posted a few manips and even fanart of the two together. They, along with Penny Forrester from Bolt and Violet Parr from The Incredibles, have also occasionally been included in the Hope Kids crossover group, originally consisting of Riley Andersen from Inside Out, Meilin Lee from Turning Red, Hiro Hamada from Big Hero 6 and Miguel Rivera from Coco. One particular Tumblr post of this group has reached over 500 notes.

The first crossover edit of them as a pairing on YouTube was posted in July 2025 by user biljackier, to the tune of the song 'Why' by Sabrina Carpenter. It has reached over 100 views since being posted.
