WolfWren is the femlash ship between Sabine Wren and Shin Hati from the Star Wars fandom.

Canon

Baylan instructs Shin to travel to the planet Lothal to hunt down the padawan of Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren. Shin does so and uses a probe droid to pinpoint Sabine's location.

After acquiring the key that will help locate the missing Ezra Bridger, Sabine manages to decipher the orb, with it projecting the unknown galaxy that Ezra is currently trapped within. She is then ambushed by several assassin droids, who manage to subdue her and steal the key from her, as they wish to find the also missing Grand Admiral Thrawn. Sabine retrieves her lightsaber, and rushes after them, only to be met by Shin who was waiting for her. Sabine ignites her saber and the two engage in lightsaber combat. Shin noticeably seems to be holding back significantly in the fight, duelling Sabine one-handed for a majority of the battle. Shin then eventually defeats Sabine and stabs her through the stomach before leaving with the key. Sabine is then quickly brought to a medical facility by Ahsoka, and she manages to recover with no lasting injuries.

Sabine then joins Ahsoka on her quest in finding Ezra and stopping Thrawn from being unleashed, with Sabine formally becoming Ahsoka's padawan. Now being in possession of the key, Shin and Baylan communicate with Morgan Elsbeth, with Baylan agreeing that Ahsoka will be coming for them and he'll have to kill her if they wish to have no interference with Thrawn's imminent arrival. Ahsoka and Sabine then travel to the planet Seatos to investigate the Eye of Sion, a hyperspace transport ring specially built to reach Thrawn now that they finally have his coordinates. The two are then intercepted by multiple enemy starships with Shin piloting one of them, and after they engage in a fierce dogfight, Ahsoka and Sabine successfully manage to outmaneuver and lose them momentarily, safely landing on Seatos.

They take refuge within the forests of the planet, with Baylan promptly sending his apprentice along with Marrok after them. Shin and Sabine face each against other once again, with Sabine now utilizing her Mandalorian gadgetry instead of the lightsaber she had demonstrated to be out of practice with formerly. Shin uses the force to send Sabine flying into a nearby tree, knocking her helmet off in the process. After narrowly evading a fatal blow from Shin, Sabine once again equips her saber and the two engage in close combat once more with Sabine now playing on the defensive side, learning from her loss on Lothal and faring considerably better. After Ahsoka strikes Marrok down, Sabine yells for Ahsoka to continue on while she deals with Shin, the latter telling her that she will soon regret this decision. Now on her own, Sabine attempts to channel the force in an act of desperation after being kicked to the ground by Shin, but to no avail. Shin mockingly responds to this saying she has no power, but is then disarmed by Shin with a wrist rocket after she had successfully distracted her. Shin then uses a smoke grenade to blind Sabine before escaping. Sabine arrives in time to witness Ahsoka being sent off a cliff by Baylan, who weaponizes her grief after Sabine threatens to destroy the orb and thus any chance of locating Thrawn, saying she needs the orb intact, since not only would it mean Thrawn stands no hope of returning, but also the only family she has left, being Ezra. Baylan's manipulation tactic works, and Sabine relinquishes the orb, only to suddenly be force choked from behind by Shin, sending her on her knees before being ordered by Baylan to stand down, honouring his word of reuniting Sabine with Ezra. Shin shackles Sabine's hands together with a pair of cuffs taking Sabine as her prisoner. They then travel to the galaxy to finally bring Thrawn back from his exile.

While on the ship, Shin and Sabine share a lingering look with each other. They arrive on Peridia, and Thrawn allows Sabine to set out to find Ezra. Once she leaves, he tells Baylan and Shin to follow her. Baylan agrees, but Shin appears conflicted. She is upset that Baylan is seemingly going back on his promise to Sabine. Still, they set out after Sabine.

Shin and Baylan catch up with Sabine and Ezra, and Baylan deploys her out to kill them. Shin seems somewhat reluctant to do this, but agrees. She engages the two in a fight, enduring another lightsaber battle with Sabine who she smirks at. Once Shin is abandoned and betrayed by her master, Ahsoka outstretches her hand and offers to help her, which Shin eventually refuses before running off although seeming to consider the idea momentarily. Sabine attempts to go after her, but is stopped by Ahsoka.

Thrawn then accomplishes his goal and manages to escape back out into the known galaxy he had been separated from for over a decade. Sabine and Ahsoka are now both left stranded on the foreign planet of Peridea as he formerly was, as well as Shin who now operating on her own for the first time, befriends a camp of raiders.

Fanon

Fans promptly began to ship the two as the show began setting them up as rivals in the very first episode, both being padawans on opposing sides and promotional footage showing that there will be a rematch between the two after Sabine's first defeat in Episode 1. Many think Sabine and Shin could become even more likely, theorizing that they could have an enemies to lovers storyline, or at the very least enemies to allies.

Although Sabezra is considered its official rival, Ahsbine and Ketbine are two femslash ships which often rival WolfWren. They are considered much healthier alternative femslash relationships for Sabine.

Trivia

• The ship name “WolfWren” comes from Shin's surname, Hati. In Norse mythology, Hati is a wolf who chases the moon.
• The fight between Shin and Sabine in Episode 1 was the first ever live-action lightsaber duel between two women.
• Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine) on November 10 2023, posted various fan arts she personally liked on her Instagram page, the last two of which were WolfWren. This post was subsequently liked by Ivanna Sakhno (Shin), as well as Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano) and Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger). Sadly, this drew a lot of criticism from a number of fans, feeling it would ruin the conection between Ezra and Sabine as well gloss over her descsion to hand the map to Baylon Skoll, just to see him again, even though it risked Thrawn returning and starting another galactic war.
• Ever since the ending of the Star Wars series, the Acylote, the ship ended up drawing a lot more criticism, mainly due to it's comparisons with Reylo and Oshamir, both were ships involving a protagonist hooking with a Dark Side user as well being looked as toxic by the fandom.
