Wolfstar is the slash ship between Sirius and Remus from the Harry Potter fandom.
Canon
Sirius and Remus met at Hogwarts in their first year when they were sorted into the same house. They became best friends, along with James and Peter. In their second year Sirius discovered that Remus was a werewolf, so he and the other Marauders decided to become Animagi to help make his transformations during full moon bearable. When they left Hogwarts, they joined the Order of the Phoenix together. However, they became aware that there was a spy in the Order, and Sirius suspected Remus. This led to him not telling Remus that he had switched places with Peter as Lily and James' Secret Keeper. When the Potters were betrayed, Remus (along with the rest of the world) believed Sirius was guilty. They were separated for twelve years during Sirius' imprisonment in Azkaban. Remus eventually discovered that Sirius was innocent when he spotted the supposedly-dead Peter Pettigrew on the Marauder's Map, and was reunited with his old friend. They both apologized for doubting each other, but had to separate again as Sirius went on the run. When Voldemort returned, they both rejoined the newly reformed Order and fought against Death Eaters together, including at the Department of Mysteries. Remus was extremely upset by Sirius' death.
Fanon
One of the most popular slash pairings in the fandom, especially of the parent generation. The film portrayal of this relationship also helped a great deal to further the ship's popularity, with Snape literally saying they're "quarreling like an old married couple".
Another factor is that the actor portraying Lupin (David Thewlis) was instructed to portray Lupin as gay in his first appearance in the films, until learning that Lupin was marrying Tonks.[2][3]
On AO3, it is the most written ship for both characters and the second most written ship in the Harry Potter fandom.

- While filming Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, director Alfonso Cuaron told David Thewlis that Lupin was gay, and he played him accordingly. He continued to play him as gay until it was revealed that he got married to Tonks.[4]
