After Kara arrived on Earth and was struggling to master her new powers from the planet's sun, Diana was asked to recruit her to Super Hero High. Seeing how destructive her powers can be Kara nearly applied to a super villain school, until she remembered the video call that allowed her to see Wonder Woman in action, while they talked. This gets Kara to enrol at Super Hero High.

WonderSuper is a rarer pair in the overall DC fandom. Though has a larger following among DCSHG fans, as well as among DCEU/Arrowverse fans. Mostly due to them being some of the few DC female heroes in the spotlight over the past few years. Making it easy for femslash fans to start shipping them if they're fans of multiple DC adaptations. The ship is rather rare for comics fans themselves. Mostly due to Kara being dead for several decades in the comics, as well as Kara's age varying depending on the era. Given that she was always younger than Clark, some feel uncomfortable shipping the two in the comics, and prefer to see Diana as an older sister figure to Kara.
WonderSuper gained a small following in the DCSHG fandom. Due to Kara being the main Super of that universe, and thus fight alongside Diana more often. Though there is not much fan fic or art for that version of the ship. Mostly due to the series being aimed at a child audience. Which makes it harder for fans who create content to get into the series.
Often fanworks have used DC Extended Universe Diana and Arrowverse Kara, from wanting to focus on their modern live-action counterparts. Long before DCEU released a Flashpoint based film, that featured it's own paradox version of Kara. This is due to the Arrowverse Supergirl tv series, and the DCEU introducing Wonder Woman at around the same time. The idea drawing femslash fans to the idea of a crossover between the two. Especially due to Diana being canonically bi in the comics, and many seeing Kara as a queer icon throughout the decades.
On AO3, WonderSuper is the ninth most written ship for Diana. There are currently 100+ written works.
