“She might come across as low-energy, but make no mistake — she's one of the most diligent people you'll ever meet. When I asked her to build my gun for me, I barely put any thought into it, just gave her a general idea of what I wanted, and left it with her. Then, once she started working on it in earnest, she spent an entire day questioning me — what would a typical day's flying look like, how often I was expecting to use it, and so on — and by the end of the day, there were abandoned designs schemes all over the floor... I was so exhausted that I fell asleep even before she did. Then she wrote a whole maintenance guide, which she forced me to learn by heart so I wouldn't come bugging her with issues every day... Well, that's what she said. But I suspect her real reason was that she wanted to make sure I'd look after myself and fly safe.”
— Chasca's Voiceline about Xilonen

Xilosca is the femslash ship between Xilonen and Chasca from the Genshin Impact fandom.

Xilonen and Chasca are both characters hailing from Natlan, with Xilonen being from the Children of Echoes and Chasca being from the Flower-Feather Clan. They are also both Ancient Name bearers, with Xilonen bearing the name "Baraka" and Chasca bearing the name "Vuka".

They seem to be friends, or on good terms at the very least, since Xilonen forged Chasca's gun for her. It took quite the effort and time which is why Xilonen praises Chasca for being able to maneuver the weapon so easily, calling her a "flying ace." Chasca also praises Xilonen for her diligence, but said she had spent an entire day asking her questions when preparing to forge her gun. Chasca had assumed it was because Xilonen wanted to make sure she would be safe while using it. [1]

Currently, they've only had one minor interaction in the Natlan trailer. In the trailer, Xilonen yawned and threw the ball that she was holding downwards, which ended up hitting Iansans' head. The ball then bounced towards Chasca who caught it in the palm of her hand.

Xilonen seems to be a more laid-back, nonchalant character who enjoys to sleep in her free time. We can identify this because of her actions when she was portrayed in the trailer. Xilonen was seen yawning and carelessly throwing the ball, meanwhile, Chasca seemed to be a bit more reserved and serious when catching it. Chasca had a stern expression, while Xilonen seemed like she was bored.

Connection to Unfinished Reverie[]

Xilonen and Chasca have a connected weapon story which focus on two different main characters. Xilonen weapon story focus one a woman named Sakkuk, who has a crush on the main character in Chasca's weapon story, who is called the Scarlet-Eyed Hero.

Peak Patrol Song[]

The weapon story reflects on the fear of life fading away and the hope that something lasting remains. The protagonist, whom is Sakkuk, once cold and distant, thinks about the passing of time and wonders if her life will wither like flowers or be forgotten like ashes. She recalls an old tradition of offering Embercore flowers to those who have passed, symbolizing the brevity of life. Over time, her once unfeeling heart softened, but those she cared about are now gone, having returned to the Sacred Flame. The quiet, lonely mountains now hum with the sounds of artisans and the growth of a thriving civilization. The representative, no longer young, is moved by these changes and, for the first time, sings a song she once avoided, recognizing the power of renewal. Despite the years that have passed, the rhythm of the hammer on the chisel continues, a symbol of resistance and hope that won’t die. In the end, the passage suggests that while life is fleeting and memories may fade, the struggles and hopes of those who came before live on, echoing in the song of the people and the work that remains. This song she avoided is implied to be taught to her by the Scarlet-Eyed Hero from the Flower-Feather Clan, whom she had a crush on.

Crownless Crown[]

Sakkuk reflects on her deep emotional connection to a scarlet-eyed youth whom she loved and respected. She had crafted a golden crown with turquoise and emerald feathers, meant for a coronation that would never happen because the youth had died. After his death, she continued to honor him by gathering relics associated with the heroes, including works that could be linked to him. Despite the passing of time, she held onto the memories and sacrifices made by those she loved, especially the youth, whose return to the sacred flames was seen as a final, rewarding act.

Faded Emerald Tail[]

Sakkuk has a quest to uncover the truth about the renowned craftsman who made a golden feather she holds dear, which was connected to her late father. She obediently follows the Scarlet-Eyed Hero's commands to search for clues about the craftsman among rumors and the elite circles of society. However, she finds nothing until a drunkard in a tavern tells her about the craftsman's origins.

The craftsman, a beggar with a scarred face from a past fire, is revealed to be the creator of the ornament. Sakkuk is unfazed by his appearance, and as she listens to his story, she learns of the maker's tragic past and his connection to her father, who was condemned for protecting the Saurians. Sakkuk had hatred for the injustices faced by both her and the craftsman.

The craftsman offers his services to Sakkuk without needing her to explicitly ask, but he also perceives that the young girl’s heart is already occupied by another—likely the Scarlet-Eyed Hero.

Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage[]

The weapon story reflects on an ancient legend: about a "Sacred Lord" betrays the alliance with the Saurians in favor of his love for a single god, causing the downfall of harmony between the species. As the once-vibrant Cinder City becomes a shadow of its former self, the Python King's ambitions fade into darkness. Amidst this chaos, a young man, exiled by the Flower-Feather Clan elder, embarks on a pilgrimage to protect the Saurians and escape the usurper’s wrath. His red eyes, burning like a sun, reflect the cold, moonlit night as he journeys onward.

Later generations recount the hero's deeds through songs and legends, some imagining him guided by a noble vulture or even claiming he was not a mortal, but a divine being returned from the Night Realm to save the oppressed. The tales of his journey vary widely, and there is no singular version of the story universally accepted. What is agreed upon, however, is that the red-eyed hero ascended to divinity, symbolizing the idea that "humans can become gods," a belief that took root across the land.

This also includes the hero’s conversation with Sakkuk, expressing a desire to leave his name behind and ensure his legacy endures. In his defiance, he promises to pass down a feather as a symbol of his will, ensuring it lives on for generations, even in the homeland he cannot return to.

Fanon[]

XiloSca is considered a rarepair due to Xilonen and Chasca's lack of interaction. Despite XiloSca's rarepair status within the Genshin Impact fandom, it holds a decent amount of popularity on TikTok. Xilosca currently has 20+ posts classified under the tags “Chasca x Xilonen” and “Xilonen x Chasca,” 30 posts under “XiloSca,” 12 videos categorized under “Chilonen” and “Chasnen,” 3 videos under “XiloChasca” and “XiloCha,” and much more.

Many people believe that Chasca's design is reminiscent of Clorinde's. Additionally, with Xilonen being a geo character and having blonde hair, people automatically thought of the pairing Clorivia, a popular femslash ship in the Genshin Impact fandom. Since XiloSca reminds many people of Clorivia, fans tend to call them the Clorivia of Natlan. Xilosca's similarities to the popular femslash ship lead more people to begin ship the two characters together.

Brushing aside their similarities, some fans of the pairing tend to ship them solely because they're both beautiful women. Fans also hope the two will have more major interactions in the future.

Trivia[]

  • Both of them have matching braids next to the shoulders on the same side.
  • Xilonen's voiceline about Chasca leaked Chasca's gameplay. [2]
  • Xilonen and Chasca have a complicated but connected weapon story. Xilonen Weapon talks about Sakkuk, a girl who had a crush on the Red-Eyed Youth from the Flower-Feather clan. This seems to take place right after his death. While Chasca Weapon is the journey of this Red-Eyed Youth before his death.
  • Vultur gryphus is the name of Chasca's constellation, while Panthera onca is the name of Xilonen's constellation. Vultur gryphus means "Andean Condor," and Chasca appears to reference this vulture through her design. Panthera onca means "Jaguar," and Xilonen seems to draw inspiration from both a jaguar and an ocelot in her design. Both these animals have a duality connection with each other in Incan culture. [3]
    • The Andean Condor and the Jaguar are powerful symbols in South American mythology, often representing complementary forces of nature and spirituality. The condor, associated with the sky and the upper world (Hanan Pacha), symbolizes freedom, wisdom, and a connection to the divine, acting as a messenger between realms. The jaguar, tied to the earth and sometimes the underworld (Ukhu Pacha), embodies strength, power, and a deep connection to the natural and mystical forces of the land. Together, they reflect the duality central to many Indigenous cosmologies, such as the Inca triad of worlds, balancing the spiritual and earthly realms. Both revered as spirit guides in shamanic traditions, the condor and jaguar show unity and the integration of spiritual and physical power. [3]
    • Xilonen and Chasca may represent two parts of duality, and together, they embody complete duality. Xilonen likely represents a connection to the living world, particularly the people of Natlan since she forges ancient names. She is associated with Geo, a grounded and stable element. In contrast, Chasca represents a distance or disconnection to the living world, which is humanity since she was raises by saurians her entire life. She is associated with Anemo, an airbone element and instable. Geo is more grounded than Anemo. [3]
  • Xilonen and Chasca have a similar Natlan exploration talent that gives you Phlogiston.
    • For Chasca, you gain a total of 25 Phlogiston from her utility passive, while Xilonen's utility passive grants a total of 15. If you subtract them both, the sum is a total of 10. In South American cultures, the number ten symbolizes completeness, representing cycles of nature, harmony, and unity in traditions and social structures. It reflects fulfillment and balance in both spiritual and practical aspects of life.
  • Xilonen's fourth passive is named "Portable Armored Sheath," while Chasca's fourth passive is called "Intent to Cover." "Portable Armored Sheath" refers to a shield, a tool designed to provide protection. "Intent to Cover" likely refers to protection, whether through physically shielding others or being protected by someone else. Together the passives names likely refers to safeguarding, with Chasca taking on the role of protector or being protected and Xilonen supplying the tools for defense or being the protector. [4][5]
    • Xilonen's fourth passive seems perfectly made for Chasca, or perhaps it's the other way around. Chasca's fourth passive activates when a Nightsoul Burst is used, and Xilonen's fourth passive allows her skill to count as a Nightsoul Burst when her Nightsoul points are full. Together, their passives seemed designed to complement each other perfectly.
  • Both of them have the same skill idle animations.
  • For their birthday voice lines, both of them give the traveler something related to their occupations while explaining the details, showing their similarities.[1][2]
  • In their gameplay, both appear to cover or counteract each other's blind spots while attacking.
  • In Chasca birthday letter on 12/10/2024, Chasca gave us 10 Brilliant Chrysanthemum, which is one of Xilonen ascension material.
  • Chasca and Xilonen both have detached sleeves. Chasca's on her left while Xilonen's on her right.
  • Chasca and Xilonen are the only Natlan characters that use PECH in their in-game kit.
  • They have matching bracelets on their left side.
  • Chasca has a feather in the same position of Xilonen's tail.
