XinKazu is the het ship between Kaedehara Kazuha and Xinyan from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
As Kazuha stayed a long time on the Crux and as Xinyan goes there often to see Beidou, she had to meet Kazuha many times. Considering that Xinyan often says things like “my friends’ friends are my friends“ and she’s a close friend of Beidou, she must consider Kazuha as a trusted friend.
Summertime Odyssey[]
Kazuha and Xinyan interacted in the game for the first time in the 2.8 event, “Summertime Odyssey“; They can be found at Angel’s Share tavern having a friendly chat, sitting together with Venti. Surprised by their presence, Paimon asked what they were doing in Mondstadt, to which Xinyan answered that she was looking for inspiration for her music while Kazuha just wanted to travel a bit so they went together. Xinyan explains she met Kazuha during a party on The Crux, as she was dealing with music, she discovered a common interest with him. Kazuha confirms that their interest in music is indeed what makes them so close, to which Xinyan adds that Kazuha is one of her only experienced friends in this field. During the event, the two stay together most of the time - or when one is on screen, the other always nearby.
When Kazuha was drunk, Xinyan stayed with him and seemed to look after him, telling the traveler that he wasn’t holding alcohol well, as if she already knew about it or was used to it. This may suggest that they have dealt with this kind of situation in the past. During their trip to the island, Xinyan had volunteered to prepare dinner. Kazuha reacts positively to this, saying that as Xinyan has regaled them tonight, he volunteers to prepare breakfast the next day.
Then, we can see the two of them standing side by side on the cinematic of the event, where they discover the illusion of the island. After that, they are going to be confronted with some strange events like islands that change their appearance or a boat that talks. That's when they start to wonder if they were not dreaming; Xinyan will ask Kazuha to hit her, suggesting that in a dream, she would wake up if she felt pain. Kazuha immediately declined, saying that it would be wrong of him and asked Xinyan to hit him instead. Xinyan will also refuse, adding that it will hurt if she hits him. This scene will end by Paimon who will take the responsibility to hit the traveler herself. Although they are 6 to overcome the events of the island, Xinyan and Kazuha are most often seen together. The 2 answer each other very quickly, Xinyan often confirms what Kazuha says and vice-versa.
During the preparation of the dinner, Paimon will compliment Xinyan on her cooking and the fact that she takes care of others so well. Kazuha will add that she is a comrade that the whole Alcor crew approves of. Paimon will then tell Kazuha that he is also someone we can count on. Xinyan laughs at this and confirms that he agrees with Paimon. Following these words, Kazuha will feel comfortable talking to Xinyan, Paimon and the Traveler about the illusion illustrating his past because he would consider them as trusted friends.
Entering the illusion of Xinyan, the group was a little afraid of venturing into it because of the previous illusion which was that of Kazuha. He then said to reassure everyone that if it’s the illusion of Xinyan he is confident that there will be no trap. Xinyan replied that he always knows what to say and that it cheers her up. During this illusion, Kazuha will show a great interest in Rock’n’roll. Not trying to hide it, he will share his point of view with Xinyan, saying that this style of music can make people have an iron will and that it is something admirable.
When Xinyan plays her “surprise concert“ to the group, Kazuha is intrigued by her music, insisting that it’s “really interesting“.

The ship sailed as a result of their interactions in the 2.8 event, where the two are introduced as travel partners who traveled through Liyue together. Fans of the ship likes to ship them alongside Monafischl, this being the second main ship of the event.
XinKazu is not very popular in the fandom, mainly because it is rivaled and overshadowed by KazuScara and KazuGorou on Kazuha’s side, and Yunyan on Xinyan’s side, which are much more popular.

- In the Chinese dub, Kazuha refers to Xinyan as his “zhiyin” [知音], literally meaning “someone who knows music well”, but is also used in reference to friends who truly understand each other. This term originated from the story of Bo Ya and Zhong Ziqi, two musical buddies, similar to Kazuha and Xinyan.
- Kazuha is from Inazuma and has already visited Liyue, while Xinyan is from Liyue and has already visited Inazuma.
- They both have a red streak in their hair.
- Xinyan was born on October 16, while Kazuha was born on October 29.
