YamaShira is the het ship between Ryuu Yamada and Urara Shiraishi from the Yamada-kun & The Seven Witches fandom.
Canon[]
In class, Yamada sits next to Shiraishi. Their impressions of each other at the beginning weren’t so great. Yamada didn’t like the fact that Shiraishi was so smart and found it annoying. And Shiraishi didn’t like Yamada because of his attitude. However, both their lives turned upside down when Yamada went to the staircase. He saw Shiraishi walking up the stairs behind him and got annoyed. He then accidentally fell back from the staircase, knocking Shiraishi down with him. When Yamada wakes up, he finds out he’s in Shiraishi’s body.
Their friendship develops throughout the series as they occasionally swap bodies, due to Shiraishi's body-swapping powers, to help each other in their social and educational lives. Yamada soon started developing feelings for her after becoming closer and closer to her. In the Witch-Hunting Arc, when Shiraishi had lost her memories of Yamada, he confessed to her hoping that it'll trigger her memories. She rejected him directly, but oddly her heart was beating fast, implying that she still had feelings for him. Afterward, in chapter 90, when everyone had gotten their memories back, Yamada confessed to her once again. In response, she told him that he was the one that she liked and she said 'yes' to his confession of love. And from then on, they start dating.
In chapter 239, it was revealed that they had first met during the beginning of their high school lives. Yamada had called Shiraishi boring, because reading and learning was the only thing she ever thought about, with no social freedom whatsoever. It was at that moment when she had realized her love for him and made a wish to be with him, which made her a witch.
In chapter 240, before Shiraishi had departed for America, she left instructions for Yamada on how to re-approach her for the "first time", and said she'll meet him at graduation. Driven by this, he passes the entrance exams for Tono University, saying that it was because of her that he was able to change, just like how she said that it was because of him that she changed.
After the 10 year time skip, it turns out Yamada’s kiss restored her memory and they were dating ever since. Yamada contemplated proposing to her even though he already had a ring for her. Shiraishi accidentally finds out that Yamada wants to propose to her, after walking in on him practicing in front of their friends from the Supernatural Studies Club. With no delay, she accepted his proposal and the two became happily married. In the final chapter, it is revealed that they had two children whom they tell their past.

YamaShira is very popular among the ships in the series, being one of the only canon ones after all. This ship’s main rival is MiyaYama, the ship between Miyamura and Yamada. It’s the most written ship for both characters and the most written ship for the whole fandom on AO3. It can also be shipped along with TsubaYama, which is also a popular ship in the fandom.
