Yasuburger is the cargo ship between Yasuhiro Hagakure and his hamburger from the Danganronpa fandom.
Canon[]
Towards the beginning of Chapter 4 in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, five of the remaining seven students gather in the dining hall for breakfast. At one point, Yasuhiro boldly predicts that no more murders will occur inside of the school, which leads to Aoi Asahina questioning the accuracy of his fortune-telling skills. Yasuhiro angrily replies that his fortune-telling is not like "some occult thing" and that clairvoyance should not be put in the same category as cattle mutilation. Kyoko Kirigiri then clarifies that Yasuhiro is referring to the urban legend about aliens abducting cows, but he denies it as just an urban legend, and claims that he had witnessed it himself.
Yasuhiro then beings to tell the others an allegedly true story about a night when he ordered a hamburger from a take-out place he had never been to before, which claimed that their patties were 100% all beef. While on his way home, a beam of light suddenly appeared. Locked onto the hamburger, it began floating in mid-air. The hamburger then began to dissemble as it floated. One part of it vanished completely, while the rest of it fell back into his hand. Yasuhiro had deducted that this meant the burger couldn't have been 100% beef, and that it must have had something else mixed in, like pork. He then went back into the building and confronted the manager, who admitted that the burger really wasn't 100% beef, and that ground pork had been mixed in as well.
Yasuhiro finally concludes his story, asking the others if they now understand the difference between clairvoyance and cattle mutilation. However, Makoto Naegi says that he had gotten lost halfway through his story. Meanwhile, Aoi remarks to Yasuhiro that he stinks of stupidity.
Quotes[]
- “It means, the burger wasn't 100% beef! It must've had some pork or something mixed in... Something like seventy percent pork and thirty percent beef, would be my guess.”
- — Yasuhiro speculating the contents of the meat in his hamburger.
Fanon[]
Many players were dumbfounded by the sheer absurdity of Yasuhiro's story, largely due to Yasuhiro's nonchalant reaction to the situation. As he was less concerned over what was an alleged alien abduction, and was more upset about being lied to that his hamburger wasn't all beef. Some consider it to be one of the most outrageous and hilarious moments of the series. It spawned multiple memes, and of course, a ship involving Yasuhiro and the hamburger that he had purchased was created as well.
The ship is one of the more popular cargo ships in the fandom. This is largely due to the memorability of the scene that inspired it. Although, it is not nearly as popular as other cargo ships like Hinata x Orange Juice or Hope Bagels. It is also worth noting that Yasuhiro wasn't fond of his hamburger after he learned the patties didn't contain all beef.
