In the comics, Nat and Yelena are not related. However, in the MCU they are adoptive sisters. Thus the page will be categorized as a femslash ship for the Marvel comics version, and a family ship for the MCU version.

Yelenat is the femslash ship between Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova from the Marvel fandom and a family ship from the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom.

Natalia Romanova and Yelena Belova are two russian spies trained by the Red Room. They meet when Yelena tried to take Natasha's place as the black widow and became rivals. Both Natasha and Yelena were the best fighters in the Red Room. But they were both the best at different times since Natasha was being trained by the Red Room long before Yelena was born.
When Yelena's trainer died, she decided to leave Russia and she went to USA. Then, she fought against Natasha trying to kill her to take her place. They became arch enemies, punching each other faces and trying to kill each other. But eventually, they decided to become allies and started to fight side by side. This lead them to put their differences aside.
MCU[]
Both girls were raised in the Red Room. As children, Natasha and Yelena were sent on an undercover mission to pose as a typical American family for several years while their "parents" obtained classified data from a S.H.I.E.L.D. (HYDRA) program. Eventually the operation was successful, and the girls were taken back to the Red Room for further training. When confronted by Red Room agents trying to take them back, Natasha stole a gun and attempted to protect Yelena from the horrors of the academy, though she was calmed by her "father."
Years later, after Natasha had defected to SHIELD, she was sent a vial of mysterious red vials. She was attacked by Taskmaster and went to Budapest after discovering she was not Taskmaster's intended target; the vials were. Now at a Budapet safe house, she confronts Yelena Belova, who had sent the vials. The two fight for a while before agreeing to a truce. Much to her surprise, Yelena informs Natasha that the Red Room is still active, and the Widows are under the mind control of red dust.
Fanon[]
Yelenat is a headcanon romantic ship approved by comic stans. Since they were created as rivals and they are not relatives in the comics, some fans thought about them as "enemies to lovers." Also, the ship became a little more popular with the cartoon "Avengers Assemble." However, the headcanon ship became really weird to most people because of Marvel Cinematic Universe where they were portrayed as adopted sisters and because of Yelena's asexuality.
