Yellow Aunt is the familyship between Steven Universe and Yellow Diamond from the Steven Universe fandom.

Season 1[]

Steven first heard of Yellow Diamond when Jasper tried to capture him under the believe that he was Rose Quartz, with her insisting that "Yellow Diamond needs to see this... thing". However, Garnet made their ship crash back to Earth before Jasper's plan could ever come into fruition.

Season 2[]

Steven finally properly learns about the Diamonds when visiting the Diamond base on the moon in "It Could've Been Great" to get the location of the Cluster so that the Crystal Gems and Peridot could neutralize it before it blows up the Earth from the inside. Peridot, still loyal to Homeworld, proudly shows off Yellow Diamond's mural, but Steven doesn't quite understand who the Diamonds are. Peridot thinks he's joking and explains that the Diamonds rule over Homeworld as matriarchs and that every Gem was created to serve them.

In "Message Received", Steven had noticed that Peridot stole a communication device when they were on the moon together, so he tries to ask her about it under the pretense of finding out more about the Diamonds. When Peridot uses the opportunity to gush about Yellow Diamond, Steven tricks her into believing that Yellow Diamond is right behind her, only to take the communicator when she actually looks and lock Peridot in the car. When Steven gets her to tell what the device is, Peridot reveals that she's still loyal to Yellow Diamond and had planned to contact her to report what she knows about the Earth. Steven insists that the Diamonds are bad because they only care about the Earth to dry out its resources to make more Gems, then planted the Cluster inside to dispose of it when Rose rebelled against them. Peridot doesn't even argue with him, saying that that's the point, causing Steven to lose all trust in her as he tattles to the other Crystal Gems about it. However, Peridot escapes (she rolled the windows down) and uses a mecha she built earlier to steal the communicator right back, the Crystal Gems chase her, but couldn't prevent her from calling Yellow Diamond. After Peridot got past her Pearl, Steven sees Yellow Diamond for the first time when she requests to talk to Peridot herself, he and the other Crystal Gems managed to hide behind nearby bushes. When Yellow Diamond asks about the Earth's status, she sounds notably disgusted when Peridot informs her that it's full of organic life. However, Peridot panics when Yellow Diamond asks why she isn't calling from the handship she assigned her, with Peridot telling the truth about the ship being destroyed. But when Yellow was pressing for specifics, Steven worried that Peridot would rat them out, but was surprised when Peridot lied about the ship being destroyed in an "accident". But just as Yellow Diamond considers ending the call by telling Peridot that she will be taken to her next assignment shortly, Peridot tells her that the Cluster should be terminated, just like what she planned to do with the Crystal Gems. But when Yellow Diamond gets furious at Peridot for refusing to take her order of just leaving the Earth to die, Peridot yells back at her that she knows with all certainty that the Earth is worth protecting, causing Steven to smile proudly at her. But when Yellow Diamond acts offended at Peridot thinking she knows more about the Earth than her, Peridot confirms that she does and outright insults her by calling her a "clod" and ends the call in panic. The Crystal Gems all swarm Peridot to congratulate her for telling Yellow Diamond off, but Peridot warns them that the communicator can be remotely detonated. After dealing with that, Steven hugs Peridot for betraying Yellow Diamond, thus solidifying her as a Crystal Gem.
