YohaRiko is the femslash ship between Yoshiko Tsushima and Riko Sakurauchi from the Love Live! fandom.

Canon

Love Live! Sunshine!!

In the first season, the two don't interact much. However, they do still have their moments together. The first time they interacted Riko ran into a disguised Yoshiko trying to recruit people to join Aqours. Yoshiko swiftly grabs the paper and runs away. Riko participates as a little demon in Yoshiko's video, and is shown to be embarrassed because of it. They hung out together a few times in the various mall and shopping sequences of the anime. The general synopsis at first was that Riko is generally confused with Yoshiko's "fallen angel" act.

The second season is where their shipping began, the episode "Taking in A Dog" revolving around their friendship. In this episode Riko's mother tells Riko that Yoshiko's mom had forgotten her phone, and asks Riko to take it to her. When Riko comes over to Yoshiko's house to return the phone, Yoshiko reveals she found a dog the day before. Riko is initially terrified by this discovery, because she is terrified of dogs.

As the days go by, Riko finds herself more attached to the dog. Yoshiko takes notice and tries to take it back from her, right on time for Riko's mother to come by and show them the flier for the lost dog. They return the dog, but later Yoshiko and Riko head to the owner's house and wait for the dog to come out. While waiting, rain starts to pour down again. As they wait for the dog, Yoshiko tells Riko about her misfortune. After a long wait, the rain stops and the dog leaves the house briefly, glancing at Yoshiko briefly before going back inside. Yoshiko gets upset because she thinks the dog didn't recognize her, but Riko tells her that the dog did recognize her and, in fact, considers her a friend.

When they return home, Riko finds the courage to pet Shiitake as a result of her time with Yoshiko.

Fanon

This ship is very popular, and is currently the most written ship for Love Live! Sunshine!! on Ao3. The love for this ship is because of several reasons. With ChikaYou, RubyMaru and KanaMariDia already paired off, they are the only girls remaining. the pairing is called "YohaRiko (or YohaRiri)". Originated from the story written in the November 2016 issue of Dengeki G's, the shipping seemingly exploded in popularity after the second season's 5th episode, where it shows that they have great chemistry together and work more than just a completionist shippers fantasy.

This ships main rivals are ChikaRiko and YohaMaru. Yohariko fans believe that Yoshiko is better off with Riko, who respects her for both her Yohane and Yoshiko side. Yoshimaru fans argue that Hanamaru brings Yoshiko back to earth and balances her out. This ship is compared to NicoMaki in the sense that external forces are more prevelant in making the ship work, instead of just the show itself. The ship is also occasionally rivaled by YouRiko and YouHane, Youhane mostly being a result of Chikariko.
