Yuriona is the het ship between Yuri Briar and Fiona Frost from the Spy x Family fandom.
Canon[]
Yuri Briar is a sub-lieutenant of the Ostania secret police who wants to capture Twilight. He is the younger brother of Yor Forger and brother-in-law of Loid Forger, who is actually a Twilight. Nightfall is a colleague of Dr. Loid Forger and partner of Agent Twilight. She is in love with her mentor and wishes to divorce him from Yor in order to take the place of a fictitious wife. So far, these characters have yet to interact with each other in the manga, but even if Yuri does not know her yet, it is revealed that Fiona already knows him and recognizes him, although she knows she must keep a distance from him as he works for the SSS and she works for WISE, being two completely different organizations working for different countries.
They share several commonalities: the objectives they aspire to accomplish are primarily influenced by the desires or needs of the individuals they idolize (specifically Fiona with Loid and Yuri with Yor). Moreover, they both exhibit a similar shoulder-length hairstyle, exhibit intense aggression when their revered individual is subjected to insults or any possible danger, and actively pursue the dissolution of the Forger marriage by harboring the belief that the opposing couple is incapable of providing satisfaction or protection to one another.
An intriguing fact regarding these two characters is that, prior to the occurrence of the Mole Hunt Arc, they had never shared a presence within the same chapter. While instances of their mention within a single chapter have happened, they haven’t physical appeared within the narrative until Chapter 80, where, for the first time, both characters make an appearance, albeit without any direct interaction between them. The most notable connection between the two occurred when Fiona referenced Yuri's name. This took place when they were tasked with intercepting Winston before he crossed the border between Westalis and Ostania. Given the expectation that the State Security Service would be safeguarding Winston to prevent any interference from WISE, Fiona and the other agents deduced that Yuri would likely be involved in the mission as well.
Upon initiating the pursuit of Winston and successfully intercepting him ahead of the SSS, Loid seizes the opportunity to disguise himself as Yuri and traverse the sewer system. To his surprise, he encounters the real Yuri and manages to render him incapacitated. It appears that Fiona was not fully aware of this plan, as there were numerous unforeseen circumstances. When Winston eludes the grasp of WISE and renders Loid unconscious (still disguised as Yuri), Fiona attempts to convince herself that it is Yuri who has been rendered unconscious, not Loid. However, her efforts prove futile when Winston unveils the truth, leading to a burst of anger from Fiona. These events give rise to certain paradoxes since Fiona began convincing herself that Loid was, in fact, Yuri. Nonetheless, it would be implausible for Fiona to believe that Winston could engage in a confrontation with a member of the SSS, given their role in protecting him.

The Yuriona was a relatively small ship in the fandom previously, but after the introduction of Fiona Frost in the anime, it began to expand. Despite the fact that these characters have not yet interacted with each other, fans like to ship them because Yuri and Fiona have unrequited feelings for the member of the main couple. One of the most common plots in fanfiction is that Yuri and Fiona join forces to get the Forgers to divorce, after which they gradually begin to respect each other and then fall in love. The shippers point out that Fiona can make a good wife, but she directs her adoration at the wrong person. At the same time, Yuri is ready to sacrifice everything to protect his family. Opponents of the ship doubt it, since, most likely, these characters would become enemies, since they are in warring organizations (SSS and WISE) and, among other things, Yuri has a sister complex, which is why the ship is considered unlikely. The ship's main rivals are Fionky and Chlori (and in rarer cases Twiona).
