ZakuMint is the femslash ship between Zakuro Fujiwara and Mint Aizawa in the Tokyo Mew Mew fandom.

Tokyo Mew Mew (2002)[]
Mint was a huge fan of Zakuro, as she was a famous model and actress. When the other mew mews found a picture of their fifth member and compared it to pictures of Zakuro, it was a match, and Mint swooned over the idea of having her idol and celebrity crush as a teammate. In order to get closer to her, she, Ichigo, and Lettuce went to audition for a role in a movie that would be co-starring with her. The audition was interrupting by Pudding sneaking onstage and performing her parlor tricks, as she was upset over being left out due to being too young, and the director was agitated and ready to leave. Zakuro calmed him down and decided to do an example audition for all of the candidates on stage. Mint approached her, but she rebuffed her and walked away.
Ichigo was later woken up by an alert that Zakuro was in danger, and she brought Mint and the other mew mews to a church where she had been praying. Kish then attacked with his chimera animals, and Zakuro transformed into a mew mew to help fight them off. However, when Mint approached Zakuro, she told her to go away because she was annoying and refused to join the mew mews. This caused Mint to become depressed and reserved. Kish later trapped Mint in another dimension along with Lettuce and Pudding, and Zakuro finally agreed to help Ichigo and rescued them from the dimension. Mint then embraced Zakuro in excitement as she had finally decided to join the mew mews.
Mint and Ichigo later began to argue, with Mint storming out of Cafe Mew Mew, their base of operations. The others thought that she would come back, but Mint mailed in her transformation pendant and waitress uniform, implying that she quit. Zakuro later visited Mint to talk to her while the other mew mews were searching for Mew Aqua. Kish created a powerful chimera animal that the group was struggling to fight, so Zakuro tossed Mint's transformation pendant back to her and convinced her to rejoin the team. Mint was later jealous when Zakuro selected Ichigo to accompany her to a fashion show, but quickly realized that Zakuro was having her do 'peasant work' which she considered to be beneath her.
Zakuro was later offered a movie part in Hollywood, which would require her to leave the team and relocate to the United States, and she had not announced her decision on whether or not she would accept the role. The other mew mews discussed rumors about whether or not she would leave, which agitated Zakuro. Later, during a battle with the aliens, Zakuro stood still and refused to transform, with Mint begging her to do so. When the aliens left, Mint questioned why Zakuro would not transform, but she just left and told Ichigo to keep an eye on Mint.
The mew mews later found Zakuro with Kish, who claimed that Zakuro had betrayed them to work with the aliens, before disappearing with her. Mint later used her ability to communicate with birds to retrieve some Mew Aqua, but the aliens attacked and Mint refused to transform because she was upset over Zakuro leaving. Ichigo told Mint that there was no way Zakuro actually betrayed them, but Mint replied that people change. Zakuro and Mint later began to fight at the sanctuary, and the other mews arrived to stop them. After the aliens attacked again and Mint was able to retrieve some Mew Aqua, Zakuro apologized to the group and explained that she was upset that the mew mews were listening to rumors instead of trusting each other.
Tokyo Mew Mew New[]
Mint first encountered Zakuro at the Red Data Animal Exhibit, an undercover museum for the Mew Project, as Ryō had learned that Zakuro's DNA was compatible with that of the gray wolf. While the fire alarm was going off, Mint brought Zakuro outside with the other potential mew mews so that they could be infused with their DNA. As Mint was the first mew mew in this series, she made it her priority to help identify and locate the other mew mews. Mint had already been a fan of Zakuro because she was a famous singer, and was excited to have her join the mew mews.
Auditions were being held for a role in a musical co-starring with Zakuro, so Mint went to audition for the role along with Ichigo and Lettuce. Mint had been doing well in the audition, but when Pudding stormed onto to the stage and began performing her parlor tricks because she was upset about being left out due to being too young, the judges became annoyed. Zakuro quickly decided to defuse the situation by going on stage and taking part in the skit to set an example. Mint thanked Zakuro for helping but she coldly replied that she was doing what she had to do.
The mew mews later met Zakuro on the roof and thanked her for saving their audition, to which she replied that it was nothing. Kish then attacked with crow animas, and Zakuro transformed to help them fight. Afterwards, Zakuro refused to join the mew mews, so Mint tried to convince her to reconsider, but Zakuro replied that she thought Mint was annoying. Mint became depressed and reserved after Zakuro's rejection of the group. She remained this way until the other mew mews spent time with her and cheered her up.
Kish later threatened to attack Zakuro during the recording of one her performances. Mint and the mew mews successfully snuck into the venue and warned Zakuro of the pending attack. Mint told Zakuro not to worry about it, as she and the other mew mews would stay around her and protect her from him. Kish later attacked during her performance as planned and the four mew mews transformed to fight him and his swarm of chimera animals. Mint protected Zakuro and told her to keep singing, but the mew mews were struggling, so Zakuro finally transformed and joined the fight. Afterwards, Zakuro admitted that dislikes working on a team but decided to give it a try, formally joining the mew mews.
Zakuro later wrote a script for a music video and decided to include the other mew mews in it. Mint was excited for her seen and fantasized about a future with her. The scene had Zakuro and Mint dancing together, which went well until Zakuro held up Mint in a pose, which caused her to swoon due to "her queen" holding her up. The mew mews insisted on redoing the shots to fix their mistakes, but Zakuro and the director Rika refused because Zakuro had smiled which 'brought out the real Zakuro'.
When the aliens attacked the sewers of Tokyo, Zakuro was able to locate the Mew Aqua. Zakuro used the Mew Aqua rod, and Mint used her ability to fly to carry Zakuro up to the surface and in the air so that she could use the mew aqua to help dissipate the pollution in the area. During the final battle with Deep Blue, the aliens' leader, Zakuro and Mint fought a powerful chimera animal known as the Dust Wyvern Mk II together. They managed to defeat it by combining their attacks but collapsed due to exhaustion afterwards while smiling at each other.

ZakuMint is a popular ship in the Tokyo Mew Mew fandom as well as the most popular femslash ship. On AO3, it is the most popular ship for both Zakuro and Mint and the fifth most popular in the fandom with 73 works for the pairing. Fans noted Mint's crush on Zakuro and found it to be obvious. The 4Kids English Dub Mew Mew Power tried to tone this down but also removed any notion of Mint being attracted to boys, which fans found amusing. Most notably, when the mew mews were fantasizing about boys, Mint was changed from fantasizing about an androgynous male dancer to fantasizing about Zakuro. Because of this, most fans agree that 4Kids failed to censor Mint's crush on Zakuro. ZakuMint most commonly rivals the ZakuPai, Kishinto, and IchiMint pairings.
