Zalo is the slash ship between Milo Murphy and Zack Underwood in the Milo Murphy's Law fandom.
Canon[]
Overview[]
Milo and Zack are the best of friends in the series. Zack is probably Milo's best friend in the world, next to Melissa, who he's known for much longer. However, Zack serves more as the secondary character next to Milo in most episodes.
Milo and Zack are kind of opposite to each other, with Milo being accident-prone and dangerous and Zack being safe and cautious. Zack was initially put off by Milo's chaotic lifestyle, worrying for his own safety if he befriended him. Zack was hesitant to hang out with Milo anymore, not willing to deal with everything that would come his way. However, Milo convinced him that the high-energy madness of living with Murphy's Law just makes life so much more interesting. He was quick to convince Zack to appreciate the insanity and just go along for the ride.
Since then, Zack has been a member of Milo's friend group, along with Melissa and the three of them have been an unstoppable force that drives the series.
Season 1[]
In "Going the Extra Milo", Zack first met Milo, when he started going to Jefferson County Middle School with him. He was immediately confused by the way everyone was avoiding Milo. Milo told him that he had a bit of a "reputation". Zack smiled and asked him if he was a "tough guy" but Milo denied this, saying that people have used "The 'J' Word" to describe him.
Very soon, things started to go awry, when a giant concrete pipe started rolling after them to crush them. Zack and Milo ran for their lives and Milo helped Zack by giving him some spare safety gear. Before long, they were chased off a cliff and landed in some mud, where they got trapped inside of the concrete tube and shot into the skies by a geyser of mud. Zack asked Milo if the "J" word happened to be "jinx", which he was absolutely correct about.
In "The Undergrounders", Zack and Milo were both in a subway train that went off the rails and the two hugged each other in fear, screaming in terror, as they went tumbling through the skies.
In "Time Out", Zack and Milo, along with their dads, went on a fishing trip on Murphy's Yaw, a snazzy little yacht owned by Martin Murphy. Because of Murphy's Law, the yacht just fell apart and broke into tiny little pieces.
Season 2[]
In "Adventure Buddies", Milo and Zack ended up going into the sewers, thanks to intrusion from Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
In "The Mid-Afternoon Snack Club", Zack told Milo that he felt like he always played second-fiddle to him, working as nothing more than his little "sidekick". He said that for once, he wanted to be the one who solved the problem instead of Milo. Milo totally understood Zack and gave him a fire extinguisher to help him put out a fire and save the day.
Fanon[]
Milo and Zack is a common enough ship in the fandom. This is mostly because of the obligatory rule in every fandom, where people always have to ship the main character and his best friend, (or "leader" and "lancer") of every show together in a slash ship.
Milo and Zack work together really well as friends and shippers believe that they could work together just as well as boyfriends.
Rival ships tend to trump this ship in popularity though, whether they're canon ships or not. Such ships include Zalissa, Milanda, and Milissa.
When it comes to personality and character chemistry, Milo and Zack make for a nice couple. Milo's positivity meshes well with Zack's level-headedness. Together they work excellently as a unit in the face of adversity. If they became boyfriends, they would probably do just as well, if not, better.
