Zaxbys is the non-binary ship between Jax and Zooble from The Amazing Digital Circus fandom.

Canon

Pilot

When Pomni is suddenly transported into the Digital Circus, she ends up crashing into Jax, who crashes into Kinger, who crashes into Gangle. Jax asks Caine if Pomni is a new NPC or a new character, because if it's a new character, then they're gonna have to redo the whole theme song. Zooble states that they don't want to do that again. Pomni tries to take off the "headset" that she put on by frantically pulling at her body. Jax sarcastically encourages her to do it, as the other's have tried it before.

After getting a tour from Caine, Pomni noticed that there was an exit door somewhere and asks Caine about it. Jax takes one of Zooble's arms and tell Pomni that if there was an exit, they would've all already left. Zooble uses their arm to strangle Jax and asks Pomni what she is talking about. To get everyone's mind off the exit, Caine announces that today's adventure will be the gang gathering shape creatures called Gloinks. Zooble attempts to leave but the gloinks ended up snatching them away. Jax sarcastically exclaims that the gloinks kidnapped Zooble before asking the gang if they want to get something to eat. When Ragatha suggests that they go check on Kaufmo since he didn't appear in the intro, Jax decides to go with her and Pomni and assigns Kinger and Gangle to save Zooble.

Kinger and Gangle find a hole in the middle of the floor where one of the Gloinks took one of Zooble's parts into. Jax catches up with the two after leaving Ragatha and Pomni with the abstracted Kaufmo and the three of them venture into the "Zooble hole", where they find the Gloink Queen and her gloinks. They also see Zooble about to be eaten by the Gloink Queen. Zooble asks them to help them out but since they refer to the 3 as "idiots", Jax decides that he's not helping so Kinger and Gangle do rock paper scissors to see who gets to save Zooble. Gangle loses so Kinger has to save Zooble. To his surprise, the gloinks take off with his hands when he tries to grab Zooble. Kaufmo then appears from the sky and attacks the Gloink Queen, who coughs up Zooble. Jax grabs their head and the 4 of them leave the hole through a conveniently placed escalator. Zooble asks where Pomni is since the whole thing was supposed to be for her. Jax tells them to shut up so he can hear the escalator.

While Jax is there for the entirety of Episode 2, Zooble only briefly appears in the episode at all, as they're not interested in experiencing Caine's adventure. As they're walking away from the group and Caine calls out to them to stop, trying to entice them with the new artificial intelligence he's been experimenting with, Jax slides up to them with a wide grin, asking if they really don't want to "mess with the new AI" and calling them by a nickname, "Zoobie". Zooble replies after a bit of a pause that they don't, in an unimpressed voice, and turns around again to leave. Jax is left standing with the same smile, and shrugs at Caine, then looks back at Zooble walking away.

Decided by Caine, the gang will now go into a “Lighting Round”, where they will go through various adventures suggested by them and calls votes to add/remove something from it or to move onto the next adventure. During the first one (suggested by Jax), Jax is a poacher, and hunts and eats Gangle (depicted as a rhino). Zooble (depicted as a flamingo) watches this with disgust, and as they were going to be hunted next, Zooble calls for a vote to skip the adventure and make Jax vegan for the rest of the day. The next adventure, where Pomni is president, was also suggested by Jax, which exasperates Zooble, although they play along for a bit. The next adventure is an anime adventure suggested by Gangle. Jax insults Gangle's interest in anime. Zooble is annoyed with Jax for this and defends Gangle.

Then they go into a bar adventure (suggested by Zooble), where Zooble is a bartender. Jax arrives to the bar and asks for a drink but realizes he declined an ingredient as he was turned into a vegan. Zoobles teases him telling they could have made it worse, so he calls for a vote to turn Zooble into a slug, with everyone voting against it. Zooble tells the gang that they used to be a bartender and a tattoo artist. Jax pokes fun at them, saying they sound fitting for them in a way that implies that Jax was poking fun at Zooble's sexual identity. Zooble questions what Jax means by this, but he says he's just having fun and says that Zooble hates fun. When Zooble asks about Jax's story, he replies with a fake one copying Breaking Bad. Zooble doesn't buy it, knowing what he's referencing. Zooble later ignores him, then calls out Jax for tormenting Gangle. Noticing he’s getting more intese, Zooble then scares Jax by giving him a corncob.

During the softball adventure, the gang plays against evil versions of themselves. While someone else was batting, Zooble and Gangle conspire to put Jax into a maid outfit. Jax is humiliated, but Zooble throws his words back at him: "I'm just having fun. I forgot you hate fun." Zooble is taken aback by Jax being so upset over the maid outfit, and he threatens to kill them when this is over. When Jax is next to bat, the evil versions of Zooble teases Jax replying with “let’s see what you’re made of”, emphasizing the word “made” as a jab to the word “maid”.

They All Get Guns

Jax finds Zooble in a flowerpot, hiding from Caine. Jax immediately rats them out to Caine, and Zooble calls him "a f***ing ***hole" for it. When Caine announces that the adventure for the day is a team adventure, Zooble states in no uncertain terms that they do not want to team up with Jax, who blows them a kiss in response. When Zooble tells Caine that they want the ability to have sex, Jax is surprised and amused, saying "No way. Are we FINALLY having this conversation?" When Zooble teams up with Gangle, they tell Jax "Guess times are changing, bunny boy." When Gangle dies during the game, Zooble is left facing off against Jax and Pomni. Jax and Pomni taunt them by singing "Daisy Bell," but Zooble emerges from their room with four arms, all firing guns at the duo. However, Jax and Pomni kill them in the end.

On AO3, the Jax/Zooble tag has around 20 works. Zaxbys is Zooble's second most popular ship, behind Abstragedy, and Jax's fourth most popular one, behind BunnyDoll, FunnyBunny and Ribbun. Similar to BunnyDoll, fans enjoy Zooble not falling for Jax's antics and also being annoyed by him. Besides BunnyDoll, its rival ship is Abstragedy, the pairing between Gangle and Zooble.
