ZenAo is the het ship between Zenitsu Agatsuma and Aoi Kanzaki from the Demon Slayer fandom.

Butterfly Mansion (Rehabilitation Training)[]
Zenitsu and Aoi's first encounter took place following Mount Natagumo Arc. Zenitsu was sent on a mission to exterminate demons infesting Mount Natagumo, there he was accompanied by Inosuke and Tanjiro. The three were sent to the Butterfly Mansion, where Zenitsu, along with Inosuke and Tanjiro, underwent training with the Butterfly Girls, including Kiyo, Sumi, Naho, Kanao, and Aoi.
During his stay, while Zenitsu was laying on one of the hospital beds, he expressed disapproval for the bitter medicine and that he had to take it five times for three months. Aoi, who overheard his yelling, intervened and threatened to tie Zenitsu up if he refused to stop causing a disturbance. To which Zenitsu gave no response and repeatedly made gurgling sounds, Which further annoyed Aoi, causing her to walk away. Once Aoi exited the room, Zenitsu complained to Tanjiro that he had been bitten by one of the spider demons at Mount Natagumo, and Aoi had been shouting at him all through his stay at the Butterfly Mansion.
Two weeks after their first encounter, Zenitsu was sent to begin Rehabilitation Training, along with Tanjiro and Inosuke, who had been there the day before. There, Aoi explained to Zenitsu the basics of the training, which included stretches, reflexes, and full-body training. During the reflex training session, Zenitsu went against Aoi. When they began, Zenitsu was able to easily grab the cup of medicated water and aimed it at Aoi's face, but before he could splash it on her, he grabbed her hand and simply said that he would never splash tea on a female, which weirded Kiyo, Sumi, Naho, and especially Aoi out. After that, they had full-body training. Once they were allowed to begin, Zenitsu quickly phased past Aoi, confusing her and she tried to follow his movements with her eyes. Zenitsu grabbed onto Aoi, while exclaiming "I win!" ultimately shocking her. However, Aoi gave Zenitsu a firm beating leaving him with a black eye and a large red bruise on his face. In another incident that also took place in the Butterfly Mansion, Zenitsu had stolen Insect Pillar, Shinobu Kochō's pet goldfish, Fugu from her room. He had taken and presented it to Nezuko because he thought it looked nice and wanted to impress her. However, he was soon caught by Aoi, who threatened Zenitsu for stealing it while carrying a rope in her hands.
Entertainment District[]

During the Entertainment District Arc, when Sound Pillar, Tengen Uzui was originally taking Aoi for the mission, Tanjiro argued that Uzui should take him, Inosuke, and Zenitsu instead of Aoi. Zenitsu, with a frightened expression, stuttered that Uzui should let go of Aoi, and that he was not backing down. Which Uzui eventually agreed to.
Hashira Training[]
The two had a short interaction during Hashira Training Arc, where Aoi and Zenitsu crossed paths once more, since they had not interacted since Zenitsu's stay at the Butterfly Mansion during the Rehabilitation Training Arc. In this brief encounter, Zenitsu displayed excitement upon being greeted by Aoi, enthusiastically exclaiming her name in response to her words. When Zenitsu greeted Nezuko, she accidentally called him Inosuke, as Inosuke had been teaching her how to pronounce his name since she gained the ability to speak after conquering the sun. Annoyed by the mistake, Zenitsu threatened to harm Inosuke, prompting Aoi to caution him against making such remarks.
Fanon[]
ZenAo is uncommon to stumble upon, as it is often overshadowed by their canon pairings, ZenNezu and AoIno. Additionally, the two only ever interacted during the Rehabilitation Training Arc and a small portion of the Hashira Training Arc, other than that, there were not many interactions between the two. Despite this, there is still a decent amount of fans with there being 18 works on AO3.
