Zhurrick is the het ship between Iknik Blackstone Varrick and Zhu Li Moon from The Legend of Korra fandom.

Canon

It is not known exactly how the two met, but Zhu Li worked as Varrick's assistant for a long time. Zhu Li was very loyal to Varrick and was always by his side. The two were so in sync that Varrick could tell Zhu Li to "do the thing" and she would immediately know what to do. She also always stayed by Varrick's side. When Varrick was wanted for leading a rebellion, he and Zhu Li hid together inside a dead platypus bear. Later, Varrick was arrested and imprisoned for attempting to kidnap the president. Zhu Li was also imprisoned, and they shared a cell. Varrick revealed that he had a battleship named after Zhu Li. Eventually, the Dark Avatar attacked Republic City and blew a hole in the prison wall. Varrick and Zhu Li escaped together.

Varrick and Zhu Li later took refuge in Zaofu. Zhu Li continued to work with Varrick, staying by his side as he came up with more inventions. Sometime during the next three years, they were hired by Kuvira and joined the Earth Empire. Varrick and Bolin eventually decided to turn against Kuvira, so Zhu Li went with them. However, when they were all captured. Zhu Li explained that she only acted that way because she felt compelled to follow Varrick, but decided that she no longer wanted to work for him. She pledged her loyalty to Kuvira and had the guards take Varrick away. He was hurt and distraught.

Varrick woke up and was depressed to find that Zhu Li was really gone. He kept telling Bolin to "do the thing," but he had no idea what to do because they were not as in sync as Varrick was with Zhu Li. As it turned out, Zhu Li was actually bluffing to get closer to Kuvira and sabotage her. She was later captured and rescued by Opal, and returned to Republic City to warn them of Kuvira's attack. She was reunited with Varrick, but firmly told him to start treating her like a person, not an assistant.

Varrick and Zhu Li worked together in the battle against the colossus. At one point, Varrick tried to talk to Zhu Li about his feelings, but ended up rambling about his childhood before they were interrupted. Later, Varrick proposed to Zhu Li, asking if she would "do the thing with him" for the rest of their lives. Zhu Li accepted and they kissed. After the final battle, the two were married by Bolin. Varrick cried afterwards because Zhu Li made him so happy.

During the refugee crisis follow Kuvira's invasion, Zhu Li helped coordinate the response to house those left homeless. While discussing President Raiko's ineffectiveness with Tenzin, Zhu Li considered running for president in the upcoming election, and Varrick enthusiastically supported her. Varrick's expertise with film helped portray Zhu Li in a positive light during the campaign, filming her helping the evacuees while her opponent ran from danger at the spirit portal. Zhu Li won the presidential election, and Varrick became First Gentleman, though he expressed sadness that he did not get to see her as much as before, due to her regular meetings with the legislature, military, and business figures.

Fanon

Varrick and Zhu Li were first shipped together early in Book Two. When it was revealed that Zhu Li never leaves Varrick's side, many fans immediately saw it as a sign of romance. The ship became even more popular after Varrick named a battleship after Zhu Li. In particular, the ship set sail with the hints in Book Four. Although Zhu Li initially turned against Varrick, many fans speculated that it was a bluff, and they were right. The vast majority of fans celebrated when the pairing became canon in the series finale.
