Zifa is the het ship between Zack Fair and Tifa Lockhart from the Final Fantasy fandom.
Canon[]
Outside Shinra Manor
Zack and Tifa first meet when she is hired as a guide for a group of SOLDIER members including Sephiroth and Cloud Strife. Together they journey to Mt. Nibel. Once there, Sephiroth goes berserk and injures all of the members of the party. Zack tries to help Tifa, but is unable to do so. Tifa is eventually found by Zangan and taken away from Mt. Nibel to be healed. Zack and Cloud are left behind, to fend for themselves.
Five years later, Tifa, Cloud, and the others set off on their mission to stop Sephiroth. On their journey they arrive in Gongaga, Zack's hometown. They meet Zack's parents, who ask if any of them might know of Zack; they haven't heard from him in years, and are unaware that he is dead. Tifa does not reveal her knowledge of Zack, and instead runs out of the house. Cloud follows her, and asks if she knows Zack. Tifa lies, and instead says that thinking of Zack not coming home reminds her of the years that Cloud spent away from her and Nibelheim.
Final Fantasy VII Remake[]

Fanon[]
Zifa is somewhat of a rarepair in the Final Fantasy VII fandom. Zack and Tifa are only ever shown to meet in a flashback, and the majority of the flashback is seen through Cloud's eyes. Their relationship is expanded upon slightly in the spin-off game, Crisis Core, but is still minor in comparison to Tifa's other ships.
Some shippers of Zifa decide to pair them together as a sort of "Pair the Spares" ship. This is often the case with fans of Clerith, who still want to see Zack and Tifa get a happy ending of sorts. Others choose to pair them alongside Clerith with the four appearing in some sort of polyamorous relationship. Sometimes, Tifa and Zack are both dating Cloud but are not dating each other.
