Zouxie is the het ship between Douxie Casperan and Zoe from the Tales of Arcadia fandom.

Canon

Douxie and Zoe are wizards living in Arcadia who work two jobs and one of those jobs are right next door to one another, with Zoe working in the record store that is next the book shop Douxie works in when he isn't working as a waiter. Along with Zoe's second job having her work beside Arcadia's other hidden wizards at Hex Tech. How the two met or how long they know each other wasn't revealed in Wizards, but it does give the impression that the two do trust one another enough to lend each other a hand when needed. Since "Wizards Underground" hints that Zoe helps Douxie keep the town street's safe from unfriendly magical threats like niffins, before grabbing a bit to eat afterwards.

When Douxie and his allies needed a place to hide from the Arcane Order, he sees Zoe in the window of Hex Tech and decides to seek her help. Before Merlin had Douxie gather the Guardians of Arcadia, he had agreed to hunt down Niffins with Zoe and then get burgers after words, but Merlin's orders had Douxie cancel those plans and Zoe wasn't happy about it. That is why he nervously greats her when he asks Zoe for her help, before she scolds him for choosing his master's orders over the plans they have made long before Merlin called upon him. Douxie tries to explain but he kept being interrupted by Krel Tarron before Toby tells Zoe of the danger they faced, as it gets her to bring Douxie's allies to the back of the tech repair store. Once she saw Merlin she scalds Douxie again for bringing him along, Douxie gives Zoe apologetic shrug before joining the others. Douxie not being surprised by the fact that Hex Tech is filled with wizards like them subjects that he might have seen the true Hex Tech before. As Zoe lends them to the break room and reassures them that they'll be safe here, Zoe looks sad when she tells Douxie that she needs to head back to the front deck before telling him to not touch anything.

Douxie's battle with Arcane Order, however, later brought them to Hex Tech's door when he was away while his friends fought them off. What happened to Zoe during or after that time is unknown, since she was no where to be seen after she gave Douxie century in her place of work or after the attack. Along with Douxie's mission having him leave Arcadia in order to keep Nari and the rest of the world safe.

Fanon

Zouxie is seen as a secondary ship for both Douxie and Zoe, mostly in fanon since their time shared scene time in Wizards was short and little is known about their history or how close they actually are in either a romantic or friendship sense. On AO3, the ship currently has 141 fanfics on the romantic side of the ship and only 18 in the friendship side of it. Along with Zouxie having a reasonable side fanbase on Tumblr.

Before Wizards reveals Douxie and Zoe being wielders of magic who know each other, fans have had suspicions on the subjects, since the shops they work at being next door to each other didn't feel like a coincidence. There is also the fact that Zoe has a similar punk emo style and works in a rescored store, and since Douxie is in a band some believe that Zoe could be one of his bandmates. There have also been a few theories of the two meeting one another in the past before they came to Arcadia together. Since Zoe knows Douxie's full name and dislikes Merlin has got a few fans to believe that she might had been one of the witches and wizards who Douxie's master had manged to save from Arthur's wrath as well [1].

Some Zouxie fans see Zoe as Douxie's Claire, and that is why they were upset that Wizards only had one Zouxie-like scene and that Zoe and Douxie time together in it was very brief. Even though it gave fans an idea what the canon relationship between them is like, with Zoe acting like a responsible sister who tries to keep her brother-like figure in line. From the way she scolded him for not meeting up with her like they planned and telling him to not touch anything, but is still willing to lend him a hand when needed and has shown brief signs of her caring about him. There have also been those who believe that the two might be roommates and battle partners, as their fanart depicts Zoe patching up Douxie's battle wounds and helping with his magic training. Zoe's first know job and Douxie's fondness for music has also inspired fans to draw them dancing or playing music together and have other kinds of musical references in them, while her connection to Douxie has fans add Zoe in their group art of ToA's main young characters and couples.

Because Archie is Douxie's familiar and the many theories of the wizard's bond with Zoe, along with the dragon turn cat knowing that Hex Tech is run by wizards like them, fans like to include Archie in their Zouxie fanwork. As well as drawing Zoe visiting Douxie at his waiter job as a customer or as a friend who is spending time with Douxie during his brake. After word about the upcoming Tales of Arcadia film became out, it got fans of the ship to hope that they might get to see a lot more Zouxie-like moments or at least learn how they know each other.
