Zuntsumu is the femslash ship between Zundamon and Kasukabe Tsumugi from the VOICEVOX fandom.
Canon[]
Zundamon and Tsumugi are popular voicebanks amongst voice synthesizer producers, many utilizing them in duets. Much like many vocal synths, they have little to no canon, which gives fans the freedom to shape their interpretations of their personalities and relationships.
Zundamon is a vocal synthesizer character that can be found on various software platforms such as UTAU and VOICEVOX. She made her debut in 2014, initially appearing in her mascot form. In 2021, she received her ‘bishoujo form’. Zundamon is represented as a zunda-mochi sprite, with the ability to change into Tohoku Zunko’s Zunda Arrow, who is her companion. She tends to be quite unlucky and often goes unnoticed. Her favorite food is zunda mochi. Kasukabe Tsumugi is a Vocaloid developed in collaboration with virtual YouTuber Kasukabe Tsukushi. Like Zundamon, Tsumugi has also been made available on other platforms, including VOICEVOX. She is the cousin of Kasukabe Tsukushi and was born in Saitama Prefecture, just as her cousin was. Her favorite food is curry. Both Zundamon and Tsumugi have VOICEVOX voicebanks and are included in the Zundamon Maker app for mobile devices.
Songs[]
There are various songs with Zundamon and Kasukabe as vocalists, with OSTER Project being the most prominent producer who showcases this duet. She has a deep passion for their relationship and even released an album titled Zun Tsumu Paradise to celebrate this ship. The most popular song in the album is Edamame Curry Cooking: the title is a play on the respective character's favorite food. Interestingly, OSTER Project is also a yuri enthusiast, having composed songs for other yuri pairings, such as Miku x Luka in Kissing Fish. Songs from other producers include:
- Full Capacity by Miyamori Bungaku
- Zunda Shaking by namigroove
- ZundaVPN by litmus*
In Zun Tsumu Teetee by OSTER Project, Zundamon and Tsumugi are passionate lovers who aspire to change the world with their special love. Zundamon’s head is full of thoughts of Tsumugi, while Tsumugi desires to engage in girly activities together, such as wearing matching accessories. The song often references green and yellow which are the theme colors of Zundamon and Tsumugi. At one point, Zundamon discovers a bomb in her room and alerts Tsumugi. They were about to cut the cords, but upon noticing they were green and yellow, they decided against cutting them.
Media[]
The Zundamon Maker app, as previously mentioned, allows users to make videos using various vocal synths. This led to the creation of numerous skit videos of the Zuntsumu, some reaching view counts of over 50,000 to 100,000. In 2025, Kasubase Tsukushi, the VTuber who is the voice provider of Tsumugi, live-streamed a video reacting to Zuntsumu.
Fanon[]
Zuntsumu has a larger following within the Japanese VOICEVOX communities but remains relatively unknown within the English communities, with other pairs overshadowing it.
This may be due to Zundamon being more well-known than Tsumugi outside Japan, with the fanbase gravitating towards other aspects of Zundamon, like memes, rather than shipping. Additionally, VOICEVOX characters are often not the focus of shipping discussions, with characters from more popular software like Vocaloid and Utau being the primary focus of ships. (While Zundamon has a Utau release and Tsumugi has a Vocaloid release, both characters are most known for their VOICEVOX voicebanks.)
Controversy[]
Zun Tsumu Teetee stirred some controversy surrounding the ship amongst English speakers. They expressed discomfort with the suggestive imagery in the MV and implied that Zundamon and Tsumugi had an age gap. Others argued that these claims were false as Zundamon is canonically ageless and the song was not made with a Western audience in mind. Despite the controversies, there remains a small percentage of English speakers who enjoy Zuntsumu content. In the Japanese fandom, however, the song was met with a positive reception and helped boost the ship's popularity.
